Canibus is underrated in my opinion. One of the bets ever in terms of lyrical ability and content. The more you listen to what he says in some of his songs the more you pick up advanced meanings.

no matter what Canibus ever do he will always be remembered for this joint. Not just for the passion he displayed but because he told the truth

I remember hearing 2nd Round KO when it first came out and being floored. Amazing lyricism in a really hard diss track. One of the top 3 diss tracks of all time.

Canibus style is close quarter combat while LL's style is stick and move.

I think Canibus was referencing Bigs track “What’s Beef” when he said thanks to him now I know what beef is. Also....that Canibus album was sick as hell. Loved that dude.

This is classic. One of the darkest sounding beats ever made, and Canibus spits out some of the most wicked, crushing verses ever heard in a battle rap. Its a shame Canibus didn't break out and really come into his own. Edit: There is so much that can be said about Canibus's Second Rd. K.O.... Like you guys said, this was a relative unknown taking on a giant of the industry. Canibus's attack is so focused and absolutely relentless, but not wild: he is in complete control of his delivery and composure, like an assassin. And the beat supports this perfectly, dark, sinister, and *quiet*: his blistering attack is more than enough to accomplish his objective. No need for a loud cluttered beat to make up for a weak rhymes. Ultimately, LL's comeback falls pretty flat. Just a bunch of tautologies (because he sells so many records and books, he is superior, and just because you might've bought something of his, you can't turn around and call him out for being a sellout? Try arguing out of that circular logic). Not to mention some lame childishness, and a much weaker, commercial, forgettable beat. And, if LL is so far "way up here", why is he even bothering with a "no-name" like Canibus? Bc he knows he got his ass burned hard and he's just trying to do damage control. Canibus for the win. Greatest battle rap in history. And how many people even know it?

The crazy thing is I just watched the interview on Drink Champs with LL Cool J and he said he actually told Canibus not to do 2nd Round Knockout. That the whole situation would blow over but he let Wyclef pump him up and it all resulted in the end of a promising career. So was it all worth it in the end for Canibus. Probably not, definitely not.

Canibus has always been a prolific wordsmith, I feel his Achilles heel has been picking producers, IMHO rip the jacker is one of his best albums because The producer (stoupe the enemy of mankind) complimented his unique flow and wordplay.

LL actually did a straight hardcore diss originally but his people had him calm it down because of his image this was the third version of the diss and that's why it took so long to come out. Would love for him to release the original. At least that was the word back in the day at def jam

It was huge…this was bumping after school in every lot pre every sporting event I ever played at lol.

The battle was a mis-match. LL’s old school skills weren’t up to the new level of word play being pushed by the likes of Canibus. The beat and LL’s style both sound badly dated - even at that time.

Man, Bus destroyed LL. Everyone knows Bus can't write a good hook to save his life, and he wasn't really a hit song guy, but he brought LL into his realm. In this realm, LL is way out of his league, at at time when his lyricism star was setting, and a new breed of lyrical emcee was emerging. This was embarrassing for LL in the same way that setting star Bus reading from a notebook at a rap battle was. The new breed always comes, and it will embarrass you.
