@Bruce Hill being a fan boy of a product makes you a moron to begin with. And sig is literally selling you momos full German made prices for garbage put together by some crack head in NH. That's why p365 go off without pulling the trigger and had firing pin issues, the p320 go off when dropped, mxc and spears split open at the receiver. They make junk now, cope more.

I really appreciated your review. The details you shared about the design, size, magazine base plate, red dot mounting options, were all very concise. I'll get one if price goes down to MSRP. I don't compete, I just target shoot at my local indoor range. Steel might keep the sights more steady in my 67 year old hands. I prefer iron sights but offhand at 25 yards I group the same as with a red dot. Difference is after an hour or so my eyes get tired & I start shooting better with the red dot.

Got to shoot at local range, absolute tack driver!!! Gun has great balance in your hand, recoil is minimal as your gonna get without spending $4,000-$6,000. Right now stores are price gouging MSRP for chrome version is $949 and they're selling for more than the same gun with red dot already installed MSRP. I will wait but will be one of my next firearms.

The Canik Rival (polymer) is such a great shooting gun my wife fell in love with it & claims it as hers (as if). A little flippy yes, but I swear the dot does not leave the window (508T) from shot to shot. If it does it's not perceived by my eyes, & the gun (& dot) returns to zero anyway like a champ.

Have had a TP9 for several years (paid $349 new!!) and I can say without reservation it's my favorite pistol. Feels great, and as mentioned has a FANTASTIC trigger. Canik has developed a well-deserved reputation for affordable quality.

It’s new and Canik has been great about keeping up with demand so hopefully when more and more reach the market, it will drop to or below MSRP.

Thanks for a great review. You mentioned the weight during transition while engaging targets. I have both polymer and steel. At monthly IDPA matches I transition a bit faster with the polymer than Rival S. Shot 115, 135, 147 and 150 Syntech. But 124 NATO ammo is its favorite.

Damn, I like this a lot. look at it, its a thing of functional beauty, I mean all Steel, adjustable rear sights, accessory rail, and its shooting 9mm, this is a perfect home defense firearm for my household, I mean what more to ask for.

I've built a g34 bought an sfx rival and an xfive legion. To me nothing compares around 660. I've had split times as low as .14 with the rival with the right power factor ammo. It took a gray guns trigger in the xfive legion to be able to say the same. Which makes it nearly double the cost. Still the overall performance at speed is so similar to the first shot and doing bill drills etc betwen the rival and the legion due to them both being limited by my ability. The canik just comes with a better package for nearly half the cost. I now consider selling it and getting this new steel frame model. If it's already that good at 29.5oz I can't imagine it being nearly the weight of the legion at 42.7oz vs 43.5oz.

Definitely a gun to look into. Great review. In my opinion the price really isn't that bad for a pistol that you had absolutely no issues with. It is cheaper than my Kimbers.

I want a black version of one of these. Metal version. My buddy has had his mete canik for awhile and it’s been solid. Eats everything. Made it through a rifle/pistol class, and the fit and finish after some use is still excellent if u take care of your guns. Not baby it but not dragging it behind a car lol

I use that cocking lever/pin on my SFX and thought it was kinda not necessary at first but I’ve gotten to like it there it lets me not cock off the optic and I’ve used it to cock the gun on hard surfaces and barriers in one hand reloads and such.it’s good that Canik lets you choose if it’s there or not.

All I have to see in this video is how big and permanent that smile is throughout the whole thing. I have the first gen rival in gray and gold and I love it! However I think the steel frame would be a nice step up for recoil absorption and just a little better balanced

I just got back from range trying out the Staccato P and XL. I currently own the Rival( polymer). I was a bit disappointed with the P and frankly I did not think it was 3x the price of my Rival! The XC was a different story but I do not have and extra 4k for the hobby. I was hoping for a flatter shooter out of the P and a quicker trigger but it did not outperform my Rival by 2x the price. Based on your input, the Rival S may be the answer for me! Keep up the good work

Slide won't lock back with my grip. Just touching the slide release won't allow it to lock back. Tried it out on 3 different Caniks and a Walter (that it's based on). If you're planning on buying this, I'd check your grip and see if you're touching the slide release. If you are, then see if the slide will lock back with an empty mag.

I also had to be really cautious about my grip also. On my canik mete sfx i noticed a couple times that the slide didnt lock back because of how long that slide release is and how my grip sometimes touches on it .

I have a Badass BERSA Pro XT, and I love it, because its 9mm with a rear adjustable sight, and I am so accurate with it, though I wish the XT Pro had an accessory rail so I can add a lamp to it. But this CANIK SFX S is answering my needs, and for that, I will be buying one soon.

MIKE!!! Congrats on the deal with Crowder. Watched his first episode today. A bit confused about how to get signed up and where to go to watch. In all honesty, I do not like Rumble!!! It's not just friendly at all!!! I need a video on how to use the site!! I even searched RU-vid for a video on how to use their platform and the same on Rumble. No luck on either sight.. May be a great video to make!!!
