Also the Holosun 407K will mount directly to slide. Thats my edc. Good thing is its 6 moa dot, shake and wake, and don't have to remove optic to change battery. Dont want to keep zeroing every time I change battery. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
Thank you for this! I was stumped trying to get the dang cover thing off. Then from looking at it, I thought I got the wrong red dot cause it didn't line up (as I couldn't get the cover thing off).. You saved me a lot of frustration. Thank you.
After the install I shot 150 rounds with the red dot installed, and I loved it! Faster target acquisition (especially in low light), and most importantly, very accurate. In fact I shot better after the red dot was installed then without it using the factory iron sights. 👍🏼
No, the plate does not go under optic. You remove the plate, then replace the cutout where the plate was with the optic. the mounting plate you can save in case you go back to iron sights. 👍🏼
The backing plate is supposed to help eliminate water intrusion. BUT it interfered with co-witnessing of the factory sights through the red dot window, so I didn’t install the backing plate. I don’t shoot in the rain anyway, lol. Thanks for the comment!
Well, you said… and there it is, all done. I must have blinked because I didn’t see any of the actual installation with the mounting plates. I understand there are three? Missed the whole install. Maybe next time.
There were no mounting plates included with the gun in the case. You simply remove the optics blank on the top of the rail, and then screw on the red dot in the optics slot. Sorry, I’m not a pro editor on these videos, I just do the best I can. Thanks for the comment!
@@emelioralia I understand completely you did the best you could. The main reason for your post was to mount the red dot so when the showing of how to mount it wasn’t included, the wherewithal was gone. The presentation was very good , though.
Daughter just got one but it has mcannik red dot looks like plastic plates came with it and metal one im an older guys which one goes under optic ive never been around these red dot neither has she or just mount to slide with out either
@@trashcontent6503 no... He means the actual optic plates not the fill plate that comes on the pistol. And yes you can and probably should use them. Makes it more secure and less stress on the bolts into the slide.
