His techniques are so simple, so primal, so common sense. Americans humanize their pets, thinking that to do so is love. But honestly, the best way to show love is to accept that your dog is a dog. Treating him or her as they are is love. Acceptance is love.

Americans anthropomorphisize dogs because they don't have enough willpower for proper interhuman relations. They get dogs because its the easiest way to get social interaction without having to deal with individual minds. They neuter their dogs, keep them on leashes, don't walk them alot, etc.

He is so right about how we want horses to be calm! When doing ground training you reward the horse for relaxing. He understands animals--period.
