Canisp is a fine cone-shaped Corbett when seen from ther west, and a steep wall from the north. Its eastern slopes are much more open lower down and give the shortest ascent, the chief reward of which are the superb views of the surrounding Assynt peaks.

Love Cansip happy memories watching sun go down from summit one May evening many years ago nice video as always cheers both
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
Hi Andrew, Glad you enjoyed it. Hard going underfoot but worth the effort for the views. If the cloud stays away lol 😁👍

Thanks for the video. Conflicted on this one: it's the least interesting hill to walk up in Assynt yet, arguably, has the best views in Assynt.
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
I know exactly what you mean. I actually hated the walk but the views near the top were outstanding. 😁👍

Great video, you both did it at some pace. Didnt like my walk up, lots of burns to cross, and both legs in a bog upto my knees. Forgot my dinner in our holiday pod, and fell flat on my face in the bog near the carpark track. The views of Suilven somehow made up for it.
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
I agree with you.. I don’t like the walk up either. I’m really prone to going over on my ankles. That’s why I use trekking poles, they’ve prevented me in many occasions from a sore one. I still managed to roll ankle on this one though. The views are worth the risk though. 😁👍

The hills are so individual up there in the far north west. You could never get bored looking at all the different mountain shapes. Thanks for sharing.
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
Hi Graham, Couldn't agree more! We love it in that area. 😁👍

Nice moody one guys looking forward too the next one. By the way im now on the list for a new knee 🎉 bad news is I've been diagnosed with Prostate cancer but the results are good for recovery so I'm optimistic 😂
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
Hi Paul, thanks for watching and messaging! The good news is very good news. Your other news isn’t so good though. Positive vibes pinging their way to you buddy. Take care Lisa & Dave 😁🙏🫡

Were you not tempted to use the bikes for a lot of the walk-in, it looked doable?
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
Hi Gary, Haha na.. it probably be a pain in ass trying to get it over that terrain.

Hi Guys, Such a shame the cloud spoiled the views. 👍🏔

Yep, it’s a long rocky drag to the top. Great views down to Suilven. I did it in the Winter. 🥶 Sorry you had no views from the top.
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
Yes it was! I think my least enjoyable ascent and decent. Injured ankles by the time I got back to the campervan. 😁

Almost the same as my Canisp outing a few years ago - started out clear then the clag closed in, except I didn't get to see Suilven at all because it rolled in a lot sooner and lower. So it's really good to see the views I could've experienced! Love your vids 👍
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
Hiya Ian, Despite the disappointment it was still a good bit of exercise. Thank you for watching our wee bimble. 😁👍

Hi guys, brilliant again, seen loads of videos of Canisp, I always think with the rocks it would be more tricky on the way down, it looks proper ankle twisting stuff. Such a shame about the weather on the top but at least you gave us some views on the way up. Thanks again for sharing your day. Cheers Dave.
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
Thanks Dave 👍 Yes this was a frustrating hill to walk because of the terrain. Worth it for the views but painful on a number of occasions! 😁👍

Just gotta love Assynt ❤I'd forgotten how boggy the approach to Canisp is so thanks for the reminder! If it's not being too cheeky you can see what you missed from the summit at 3:31 on here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v2BNV0dGfQc.html The final stretch is much easier when it's snow-covered 😉Keep up the great work you two, you've really got me wanting to get back up to the north-west highlands 😊

Loving your Assynt series of videos. Some ankle-breaking terrain there on the way up but that view at 04:27 of Suilven !! Wow.
@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389
Glad you like them! Yes I rolled both ankles on that one. One was still troubling me on the following days ascent of Quinag. Frustrating! 😁👍
