CANNED HEAT - LET'S WORK TOGETHER 

I WAS BLESSED TO HAVE BEEN BORN IN THE 50'S TO APPRECIATE THIS BAD ASS MUSIC. STILL MAKES ME WANNA MOVE THESE OLD BONES.

Maybe I am just too old, but for me music from the late 60's early 70's was the best. An explosion and confluence of styles was occurring that revolutionized the airwaves. Blues, Rock, Jazz, R&B, Soul. When you have a virtuoso guitarist such as Duane Allman doing session work for Wilson Picket and creating a new music format in the process (Southern Rock), the times they were a changing. What happened and why has Pop music become so mundane and devoid of virtuosity.

Canned Heat is among the most under-appreciated rock-blues bands ever. This cover ... wow.

These guys were some of my heroes back in the day. Bob "The Bear" Hite, Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson, Henry "Sunflower" Vestine, Larry "The Mole" Taylor, and Adolfo "Fito" De La Parra. And they STILL sound great, even today.

Song is a classic, and since I haven't seen any comments about it, and despite it'll likely fall on mostly deaf ears, I guess I'll point out that this song is special because of it's meaning. It was written in the spirit of and for the time back then. Though, more than ever, it applies at this time as well..

In an ERA where we are divided by sex, race, religion, sects, cults, sexual desires, towns, cities, classes, castes, jesus even what team you support or even colour of clothes you wear!!!! This song is relevant Come on you people!! Lets make this world of ours a good place to stay!!!! If we dont stick together we will all be picked off by those interested only in selfish desires

"TOGETHER WE STAND: DIVIDED WE FALL." So do not trust any politician who attempts to gain power by division. Your happiness and success reside within you. And you can achieve whatever you desire. But you will never do so as long as you allow those who wish to control you make you feel you are being victimized by others. Do not let those whose goal is to control you, or at least control the way you vote, make you believe they have the power or ability to make you stand tall by dividing us. Please, "LET'S WORK TOGETHER!!!"

One of the best and pure boogie bands of all times. Too bad they could not just hold it together for a bit longer. And in my mind, this was their best song by far. A message that's as true today as then. Just sayin'...

20 years old when Canned Heat released this song...so many GREAT songs back in the day that just are under appreciated. Getting a a degree at UW in Madison and working as a teamster and listening to music was all the education I ever needed to enjoy a balance in life. Still rock’n and skeptical of politically motivated people.

My friend says my taste in music is bad when I'm listening to this... And he listening to shitty music like Kevin Gates... In my opinion this kind of music is WAY better then modern music... :-)

Wilbert wrote and had a hit with his original song called "Let's Stick Together" in April, 1962. ..Wilbert changed the lyrics and had a hit in 1970, this second version "Let's Work Together" is the one Canned Heat did.. and Roxy Music in 1976

I'm hear with my kids...11 and 16...playing this and they are getting an education on what great rock n roll music is. They are DIGGING it. They said, "hey, dad so there is other music beside Skynryd, the Dead, and the Allmans that you listened to." I said, "gather round young Americans and let your lessons begin." LOL!

I first heard 'Heat' in '68, courtesy of my friend David H. in the dorm @ Northwest Mo. State. Later had the privilege of see 'Heat' twice... 1st time at The Texas International Pop Festival, a month after Woodstock ( where they ALSO played ), Labor Day 1969; later @ a venue called 'The Freedom Palace' in KCMo... High AF both times... liked the band then & still do, BTW!... props to you, 'Bob The Bear'!

Once time I replayed this song in my car continually for a couple of hours loud and full bass while riding down the Interstate! Right On!!! Haven't loaded it on new car stereo yet, but I WLL!!!

Let's Work Together was written by Wilbert Harrison who also had a hit many years before with a song titled Kansas City.

This is their best song, IMO. Their hits are awesome, too, but "Let's Work Together," I think, most captures what Canned Heat were like and about.

It´s a great song! It´s probably Canned Heat´s biggest hit after "On The Road Again", and, "Going Up The Country", and the only hit with Bob "The Bear" Hite doing the vocal part.
