@@jusma21 Barnes recorded this song, wasn't Corpsegrinder. Barnes couldn't do these vocals this well at this point. Pretty sad to go from what Barnes was to what he is in just a few short years.
Bruh that’s not corpse grinder… I’m 14 and I know this, this is actually Chris Barnes, the first lead vocalist before George Fisher (corpse grinder) joined in
The audio appeared at least as a bonus track on the Vile Digipak version. Still love it as hell. Best DM album ever made; no bullshit, just awesomeness from track to the next..
He was a beast until Wretched Spawn. Not sure if he learned a "proper technique" during that timet, but he doesn't get as low as he used to since then and his delivery has become what Webster hated about Barnes, ironically. He even admits that he tends to mumble if needed to keep the delivery "brutal"
Barnes was an awesome vocalist in his prime, but his prime was relatively short and in just a few years, he went from being one of the best guttural vocalists to the EEEEE bullshit. It also doesn't help that he's nearly incapable of taking criticism, which is what ultimately drove a rift between him and the rest of the band it seems. I agree with you wholeheartedly that parting ways with Barnes was the best decision they could have made, but just wanted to provide some more context because there's a lot of people who shit on Barnes (and well deserved at this point) but just ignore his past and his contributions to the genre.
I've still got Sepultura Orgasmatron live at Donnington at Number one but this will now need to be assessed and a place found in my top twenty live death performances for sure thanks 🙏
Caught a drumb stick back in 93 in Raleigh NC at a club called Snokers, They absolute blew everybody's minds back then, Wish I still had that stick 🤦🏻 We got to meet the band and Chris Barnes was a complete snob! lol The rest of the guys were super cool, I really didn't expect that, we were all really let down by the way Chris acted!! I met Glen Benton around the same time and I expected he would be a fricn lunatic but he was way cooler than Chis, we blazed in my car before the show, It was a trip looking at the cross branded into his forehead up close, it was pretty fresh at the time too 😆
This video sounds awesome, but I think they actually sound heavier live now. Maybe it's because they slowed down the tempo slightly, tune differently, or just use better gear now? Either way, CC is always brutal!!!!!!!
I swear i heard this audio on an old mid 90's Metal Blade comp...Metalmeister i believe it was called. It had a live version of this song on it and it sounded exactly the same. The comp had quite a few volumes if i remember correctly so i don't know which version it was on.
Bro!!.. WTF!? George slayed this song so hard it’s like a brutal lullaby. This sounds so damn good! Didn’t realize he could do lows better than Chris. Holy God.
suhijo yeah he filled in on drums that year for them. That’s what the people in the crowd were saying. “That dude can do anything, nirvana, foo fighters, superjoint ritual, cannibal corpse!” It was so cool to see. I’m sure it’ll never happen again though.
...SONG OF THE DAY!!!
