Lori, i havent canned anything in 30 yrs, unti today. Thanks for the lesson, i needed it as our peach tree has been groaning under the weight of 100s of ripe and ready fruit! I followed your good instructions and am now the proud mother of many quarts of pretty canned peaches.
I’ve been crazy watching your videos since I discovered your channel. I LOVE them. Every one I’ve watched and re-watched is great. I’m 78. I love to cook and bake. I’ve been at it for over 50 years, but you know the old saying, “you’re never too old to learn”, it’s so true.
I just pulled my peach butter out of the water bath. Tomorrow I’ll start just peaches. I was looking for a refresher and ran across this channel. I love it. In a world full of crazy, the only thing keeping my soul intact is my garden and canning. I think I’d lose it if not for this.
Just want you to know that I used your instructions on canning peaches today and they turned out beautiful..and they all sealed!!! I took the peelings and made some peach jelly. It turned out great also. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Lori, I love Saturday mornings when I enjoy my coffee and catch-up on my sweet friend's videos! This is glorious!! And so perfect for right now. We have a bumper crop of peaches here in the Hill Country so I am always looking for delicious things to make and I am loving your peach butter!! I have made apple and pear butter but can your believe - I have never made peach butter!! Well, thank to you...that is about to change!! Thanks again for all you share!! I learn so much from you!! Love, Mary
@@WhippoorwillHoller - I know what you mean! I fall so behind...especially now in these summer months where there is so much to do with all the fresh food! I am only putting out 2 videos per week so I can stay on top of all my other chores!! LOL!! Have a great weekend!! Love and God Bless, Mary
FFB/Clinton Ar here I came across a video of yours that said Appalachian and watched, found out you are only a few cities over :) I just began watching today and subbed you. thanks so much I just learned how to make peach butter! God bless you 🍑💕
Hi Lori! I try to watch all your videos. I am a home canner from way back. Please share more ideas for home canning. People need to know how easy and rewarding it really is! Love your videos!
If you look in the description box below video, recipes should be there I'm working on a cookbook, will take a least a year , but it will have my canning recipes, xoxoxo
Absolutely fantastic peach butter! We made some with your recipe last year (didn’t make enough). We tried it to make milkshakes and oh my lord it’s amazing. Thanks for sharing your recipe. 😊
Mama used to put us three oldest girls around a big wash tub full of water and peaches to peel them. We always had so much fun. Didn’t seem like work at all. I love you, and your videos!
My sweet Mama taught me to appreciate and love the birds. I sure do miss her. Listening to these birds in the back ground is very peaceful. Beautiful music!
I never made peach butter, but it looks delicious! Loved the fireworks display at the end! We don’t get to see one here unless we go into town to the casinos. Too much fire danger. God bless!
Somehow I KNEW you would mention Campbell, MO peaches!!!!! I live 8 miles from Campbell! I love your videos!!!! Your home can’t be far from us!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey Sweet Sis, i really loved this video. It's out of season for out stone fruit here, watching you peel those peaches made me crave some! 🤗 I haven't had a decent peach in a long while, last summers peaches here weren't that good with some being flowery in texture and others wishy washy tasting. What's happened to our good ol fruit n veggies? I'm sure it's how they've been grown for optimum shelf life and transportation & looks rather than taste....that's why home grown tastes sooo good!!...it's all about money for our big supermarkets!! Your peaches 🍑 and butter looked so pretty, i'd love to see you make that stack cake that you mentioned! Thanks for sharing with us lovely, Happy Independence 🇺🇸 Day!! love you xxxx
Thank you sweet sister! These peaches came from a peach farm , Cambell, Missouri, I try to put them up every summer, the ones from the store are awful, I'm going to make the stack cake next week, so watch for the video, yes they loved the fireworks, Happy Independence Day, xoxoxo
I know this video is a couple years old but we were down in Campbell this weekend to pickup a propane tank from my brother-in-law and we stopped in camp elk for peaches. I’m canning them today while I watch your video
Lori Happy 4th to you and your family. Thanks for the peach butter and syrup recipes. My husband and I are just learning to can so I’m grateful for your videos. I’d love to see the recipe for a stack cake! Thank You!
Thank you for video I made peach butter and canned peaches using your instructions and I’m in love with the peach butter. Thank you❤️❤️❤️ and I love your cook stove!!!
Good idea for using peels. I make apple butter, but have never had peach butter. I have a lot of peaches this year again. Southern Oregon is high desert, and peaches, pears, figs etc. grow well here. My favorite peaches are Red Havens. Sweet and juicy and blushed red. Liquid sunshine. Elberta is good to can, peels easily and is not as sweet. Hales are very large and sweet. All are freestone. Peaches don't like wet feet. The neighbor's runoff killed one of the trees. My Red Haven got leaf curl, and I had to hand pick all the bad leaves off. It stimulates new leaf growth, and the tree still put off a lot of peaches. Maybe it was the added egg shell powder or the weather, but this year, miraculously, there was no Leaf Curl fungus. I have to get better at thinning, as the loaded branches break if unsupported. Learning to prune for strength and other Orchard care takes time to learn, as I fit it into keeping up the inside and outside of my small batch residential farm. Thanks for sharing your canning tips and the recipes!
Oh my goodness! Peach dumplings are our favorite! Yes I watched your grape dumplings video! Oh I am so hungry! Love watching your process! Beautiful! That is a mighty fine stove too! Thanks!
Hey sweet lady! I was blessed to have gotten these, they came from Campbell, Missouri, they are the best, about 20 dollars a bushel. we have been looking for a woodcook stove, we were both brought up with them, but too expensive, Mr. Brown, found this one on a online yard sale, and it was just a few miles from us, it has not been used very much, big firebox, water reservoir, about 20 years old, but good condition, 500.00! Couldn't pass it up! Xoxoxo
Yes please, I'd like to see a video for your stack cake. Thank you so much for sharing all your goodies!! God bless you and Mr. Brown!!! Your peaches look so good!! I'm heading into the kitchen to can some peaches now.
I have never heard of peach butter. Can't wait to see the process. I know your channel is going to be interesting. Please put the other recipe up too. Those peaches look so scrumptious.
Must of been lovely sat there peeling those big fat juicy peaches while day dreaming and listening to the birds singing outside. Can't think of a better morning. Peaches are so yummy. Kids really enjoyed the fireworks and so did I. Big kid at heart. Thanks for a great video and wow love the new stove. That is really posh. X
I am learning so much from you ! Thank you for sharing your 4th of July celebration too. I missed the fireworks this year . I live way out in the country too .
Hey Mrs Lori, Good news for you. I found a recipe that is approved for peach butter. It's very similar only they have 4 cups sugar rather than 3.5. My peaches are so sweet , I didn't need the extra half cup Delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe
@@WhippoorwillHoller You mentioned Peach Dumplin's in your video. Would LOVE to see the recipe for that dessert. BTW, the approved recipe is in the Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving on page 45. My daughter called an reported that this is the best thing she's ever eaten. She is contacting her coworkers, offering to take their peaches off their hands in exchange for a jar of butter. The girl is motivated!!
Love applebutter, peachbutter would be good to.Love your recipe's reminds me of my grandmothers. My family are from Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee, Carolinas,Missouri, even some in Texas. All good cooks. Thank you.
The only thing better, to me, than canning apples is a bunch of jars of canned peaches! To me, homemade canned peaches are just BEYOND anything and everything. Although I DO have a question, Miss Lori. What's the difference between peaches that are canned, and peaches that are preserved? I always assumed those words were used interchangeably, but something you said...and I don't remember now what it was...made me think that there was a difference between the two processes. But boy...did those look good! They are just BEAUTIFUL! And thank you so much for sharing the beautiful fireworks! That was an unexpected treat. God bless, girl!
Another nice and simple recipe so my mind can handle it. I love your stuff. You should make your own cooking and canning recipes. Love all your cool bowls an cups and utensils. Love you guys your very up lifting. God Bless😘💕😋
I don’t blanch either😊. Peel with a knife. I make peach jelly from the peelings. Love that new cookstove💕. We live in a small log cabin and hope to have one in the future. Great video!! God bless yall❤️
Happy to meet you! We love our little cabin! Retirement soon! I've been wanting a wood cook stove for my cabin ever since we built it, it reminds me of my grandmothers, we just never could afford a new one, we found this one, couldn't pass the price up, so woohoo, he got it for me! Xoxoxo
Both recipes look delicious. Your new cook stove is gorgeous. I so remember my grandmother's green and white cook stove before she changed to gas. I wish I had that now. LOL. Peace and blessings to you on this holiday.
I take a small pair of needle nose pliers and poke into the stem end. Grab the pit and do half a twist and pulls right out. Pitted 50 peaches in 5 minutes. Then drop in boiling water for 2 min. Peeling comes right off
My mom's dad's family is from Calhoun County IL. They have the biggest, juiciest most delicious peaches I've ever had. My husband swore by some GA and SC peaches till he had one of those Calhoun County peaches. My great grandma on my dad's side would go up to Calhoun and get peaches to make her peach pies, peach butter, etc. I wish I had her recipe for peach butter.
@@WhippoorwillHoller We bought our house almost 3 yrs ago. There are 2 peach and 2 apple trees in the backyard. I don't think she took care of them. We've been fighting with them since we moved in here. My husband finally said screw it and trimmed them back massively. I want pear trees. I'd love a few others too.
Came across this video last week. Mrs. Lori I have never heard of it before but it is so good. So I cheated a bit. I never peal my peaches but this time I did. I used my pealings and added peaches to them. My husband loved it. I never save my pealings we don't care for peach jelly so Sue our hog gets them until tonight. Sorry Sue😂😂😂
@@WhippoorwillHoller O, that sounds so good. My grandmother did not have running water or electricity till 1963. I was 12 years old. I still remember her cooking everything and canning on her wood stove. She was tougher than I am. I could not have tolerated that heat in the summer.
Yum yum..looks awesome. .love your stove! We'd have blackberry or strawberry dumplings most of the time and make a pone of just self rising flour and milk bread in a pie pan slap abunch of butter in it . Sop up the juice with them oh my oh my..I'm having blackberry dumplings and pin bread for breakfast in the morning now...lol love ya
My grandmother's favorite ice cream was Peach and I love it too! I think I would like Peach butter I love peaches and I adore pears but I make apple butter every year because in Maine would grow a ton of apples.
Oh that looks delicious. I've never had peach butter. Sorry I've been missing on here. I had dental surgery so it's put me down for a bit. God bless, love you miss Lori!
Those peaches look amazing. You can't get peaches like that here in Indiana. I haven't ate a peach in years because they're nasty here. I ate some peaches that were like yours like maybe 45 years ago. My dad knew a guy that was bringing a load up here from Georgia, and he bought some from him. They looked just like those, huge with juice dripping everywhere. THE BEST EVER.
I have eaten blackberry dumplings but not peach dumplings! I’d love to try that sometime! Just found your channel today. Looking forward to seeing your videos.
Thankyou for sharing your way of doing this. I have some peaches that I would like to save and usually put in the freezer because I dont know what to do with them. I havent seen your video on the dumplings yet but will watch it for sure. I enjoy everything you do, Blessings❤
Guess I’m going to make some peach butter. It looks yummy and I have a lot of peaches to can. Also are those guineas making noise in the background? Love your channel.
Miss. Lori ..... I just found this video.... oh boy oh boy !!!!!!!!! You can just bet your last dollar...... come next PEACH 🍑 season .... here in Minnesota, I will be make'n YOUR PEACH BUTTER ! Yes Ma'am !!!! Keeping this in my library ! Thank you so very much !!!
Your peaches and peach butter looks so good Ms. Lori. Have you ever canned spiced peaches? I can't remember for the life of me how the Lady that lived in front of us did her's, but they were so good. I love peaches any way they are made lol. Thank you for another awesome video. God Bless You and Mr. Brown. Hugggggs
I'm new to your channel and LOVE it!! I grew up w 2 peach trees in the back yard. Started baking pies when I was 10. I peeled them just like you do. We can't get fragrant, sweet peaches like that here in the Pacific NW; most are nothing more than green softballs. Anyway, you made me miss home and your jars look magnificent so my search for a juicy, rose-blushed ripe peach will continue. In the meantime, please mail me a jar or 2 (and that glorious stove)! ♥️ Also, can you please tag your blackberry dumpling recipe?? Not finding it. Thank you so much!!
Thank you for your kind comment, yes, I'm leaving the link to my Grape dumplings, and later today I'll send my BlackBerry dumpling recipe, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gjFC5ww-B9o.html
New subscriber from NC. Just love your video on stack cakes and this one. This is what i used yo do-water bath fruit canning. Nothing tastes better. Look forward to more down home videos.

So glad I found your channel just now . I’m in UK so really interested in the different foods you all do . Love to watch all your videos . Do you do a casserole ever . Best wishes to you .
Whippoorwill Holler ... ABSOLUTELY wonderful ❣️ I got 8 pints and a 4oz for the frig😂 So good... I put 8 gallon bags in the freezer also😋 My daughter’s fiancé went to Georgia and brought them back! Big beautiful and ripe, so there was no time to think😂 I spent all day yesterday up to my eyeballs in 🍑 Praise God for this wonderful gift!
Hi Can you put peaches and strawberries in layers with sugar in the large crock overnight to can them? Like the apples and pears. This looks like a great way to can without the fruit getting so mushy. Love your channel.
Miss Lori, every time I watch you handle those hot jars, I keep thinking there must be something easy to work with that would protect your hands. This idea came to mind this evening....what about those gloves that hair stylists use to keep from burning their hands with curling irons and such? They are less than $5. on Amazon. I know your daughter is a stylist, maybe you can get her thoughts on it. Bless you and Mr. Shelley from Texas
You talk about Campbell Missouri peaches like we do Smith County watermelons here in Mississippi. There is no better watermelon than one from Smith county.
Miss Lori, I have a big All American canner. I grew up canning but it wasn’t with one of these. And I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m actually afraid to use it. Could you tell me how to use it? Thank you, God Bless you and Mr. Brown. Me and my husband John and my youngin Johnny are from Ohio/Kentucky area! Love watching your videos! Your such great people.!
Just discovered your site. Your Peach butter looks delicious!! Going to give the peach butter a try any tips for a newbie canner?? I like the towel dipped in vinegar tip that you mentioned in your video. Your stove is beautiful, I am sure many delicious family meals will be coming out of your new stove.
