Bad news is.. this is not the 80's not even 90's. They are going to need the luck of a shooting star to get past beyond where they already are.. I love their music but chances are they wont be that lucky.
1980's were when all the factories started moving out/dying off, and economic times drifted in/out of recession, but you're right: 1980 to mid-1990's were pre-internet, pre-social media, and a more moderate time politically. It was a good time to be alive, better than any time since.
No they won't. It's not Selena Gomez or Ariana Grande crap. But some of you are really trying to make it that way. "oh hey it has a nice beat, and a pretty voice, yeah." Worst thing they could have done is tour. But that's how they make their money. Not by downloads. But this DREAM POP band is very misunderstood. I can guarantee you that you are not familiar with the genre. Whatever. Annoying as hell though.
@@SamplingPercussionyou're right. Dream pop just dosen't and never has filled stadiums. The sound works well in big spaces, but in terms of those willing to fill it, there seems to be a ceiling.
Definitely makes my soul feel like back in the 80s the sound 60 a70s spaghetti western go uitar licks,, whisper of a on lover vocals, lyrics that hit to heart, percussion ya gotta move to and a fully mature goddess moving to music becoming music and you see this innocent little girl jumping in joy transformationingtastic spell. You can direct every nanosec of every song so complicated so detailed but just flows like simplicity, they've got a synergistic mix that evokes a state of mind I haven't known since Sade'
There is clearly a very sensual captivating riff to their vibe. Michelle works hard to captivate the audience, despite some limiting musical downtimes. Great stuff really. Hopefully they progress beyond. They are very talented.
Saw them live in seattle, and it was one of the best shows I’ve been too. No question the stage presence this band has. Everyone saying they don’t have it is 100% wrong. The sound and vocals and lights were great. I would 100% see them again, but I know they will be blowing up and much bigger by then.
These guys should collaborate with Still Corners for an album. Greg Hughes does amazing arrangements and the two female leads are different enough to be really interesting. Some of the bass/drum for Still Corners maybe among the best to me ever.
My boyfriend turned me onto this band and I’m so happy he did. It’s the band we will always associate our relationship coming together over. Their song “talk talk” is what seemed to bring us together during the huge development of our connection, driven by fate. 💗 The band is just awesome and I hope they get HUGE fame for their great effort to bring such great music to the people!

They have a great smooth sound and are not a one hit wonder. Saw them live a couple of months ago and it was a superb concert. The more songs I hear from them, the more I like them. [Also: this is some very nicely shot video of them! :]
Me and my girlfriend recently started listening to Cannons and we’ll be visiting PNW soon and I just bought us tickets to one of their shows as a surprise during our vacation. I can’t wait to see them and see her face as we show up to the concert.
Her voice reminds me a lot of Gwen Stefani’s but Gwen always did that vibrato thing that lent some volume to her voice because she didn’t have to worry about being slightly off key. It’s nice to see Michelle Joy when she actually gets to sing with some energy because most of their songs are so low key and she can sound a bit flat hen she sings low.

You're very right but the sheeple are trying REALLY HARD to turn them into the next Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift. Look at the people who attend the shows. They do not even know what Dream Pop is or it's shoegaze roots. Love the trax but hate 95% of their fans and I was in pain at both shows. They really do not get it or understand the band.
The comments about her voice are understandable. However, I still love them and their studio stuff is high tier. She does better in more intimate settings. She wasn’t born with that gift of voice and natural stage charisma, but she is working hard at it and she’ll get better as time goes on. Either way, Cannons has my unwavering support. I wish them incredible success.
This is the most realistic comment I've read. Her live performances are not vocally better than the recordings I hear and I too love their sound! The musicianship doesn't waiver when the sound messes up but her voice just doesn't hold up live. I'm starting to think the sound people are messing up he mic on purpose. She is wearing her sexy outfit and it deflects from the not-stellar live singing. Hopefully, she can get vocal coaching to improve. Cause great singers fuck it up live. She is getting a pass cause folks like the way she presents. The guys sound great.
Accurate and honest description, and I feel the same sentiment. I do love how they actually perform LIVE and how it sounds different from their studio recordings. Thoroughly enjoy both versions of them . They have way more talent than most of the pop artists who have come out in the past 10-20 years.
