My own case is totally different. I'm unable to find the sql server from where you restarted it. It didn't appear in mine. Now it's saying the system cannot find the file specified

This solution is not working for me, I'm getting the very same error after restarting the server (it was runnung already and set to automatic). There must be another way to fix the issue, I'm keep looking..

Okay, so to whom the above videoguide didn't work: once the Management Studio started try to switch default Server name by browsing another one from the 'Database Engine' source (there you should find the one you'd previously installed), then BEFORE hitting 'Connect', check 'Options' and make sure that 'Encrypt connection' box is unticked. Then hit 'Connect'. It worked for me, hope it helps others as well.
