Cannot Move WhatsApp Chats From Android To IPhone: Something Went Wrong Stuck at 40% [Fixed] 

The first method worked, I have so far reset my phone 3 times and the same error message kept appearing, restarting the phone fixed that for me, thank you man!

Bro, you saved me, the restart phone only worked with my case, you can try use the 2 methods as i did then see. I passed the 40%, damn after 12 hours of waiting and factory reset. Also, even if you failed on ios, your data is still saved in android you can relog in android and get you chats back.

For those of you who are looking for quick resolution from this video. If your whatsapp chat backup is more than 5 GB. Minimize this screen> Go to settings> icloud> apps using icloud> untick whatsapp ( as free icloud storage is only 5 GB) > HEAD back to whatsapp screen and it will come back to start moving chats from android.

I ve done the same procedure on iPhone 15 promax, at the place where you have 2 factor authentication on iPhone,my phone is asking to scan the QR code from WhatsApp account of old android phone but at the same time it’s logged out from android.WHAT SHOULD I DO,now what’s app is stuck between android and iPhone as I ve exceeded sms codes.Not able to login on what’s app on both phones now.pls help

When you are importing stage ( where it gets stuk at 40%) i went to icloud removeed the WhatsApp now it has crossed more rhan 40%

Not working even after doing force restart. Phew.. Someone here figured out what is the cause? Icloud is also turned off. Whatsapp backup is some 4 gb +. Didn't select my photos library. Yet didn't work...

What worked for me after ton of tries - Reducing my whatsapp data to just 2-3 gigs. Getting more icloud space didnt work for me. Steps to follow - 1. Update ios and android to latest version 2. update whatsapp and move to ios to latest version on android and clear all data of move to ios app. 3. Allow background activity for whatsapp and move to ios. 4. Reset yoour iphone 5. During iphone setup, connect iphone to android's 5ghz hotspot 6. Perform the move to ios transfer but include just whatsapp and other data except photos. 7. After transfer, on iphone launch whatsapp or download from app store and begin import. If it gets stuck at 40% then force reboot or disable icloud whatsapp backup. If it still fails then start the whole process again and if fails again then reduce your whatsapp data size to around 2-3 gigs. Still failing? Get more icloud space. Thats it.
