How awesome to canoe and camp to your own island!..good grub there, and i like how you didnt let the bad weather get you down..henry david thoreau said..”there is no bad weather, just different kinds of weather!”
Oh man it's been years since I've canoe or kayak camped! Always fun...well that is until you flip the canoe over and lose all confidence in any remaining semi-rapids along the way. But hey, always stories to tell haha. Thanks for sharing guys! - Shane
Noice! Squams pretty sweet from what I've seen of it driving out to Ferncroft, I wanna hit up Morgan n Percival this year, think theres a view of this lake from up there.
I noticed there was no response. I'd love to know where I could go island camping too. I'm 150 miles from there, but go up that way once or twice a year normally. I have an inflatable boat that triples as a kayak/motorboat/sailboat. It fits in my sedan, and we love to go tent camping. The Torqeedo lithium electric motor can go about 10 miles or so with the battery we have, plus it paddles probably as well as an average canoe and sails. I'd love to know where to go for Swam Lake, Lake Winni and any other nice lakes in the area. Island camping would be ideal. We don't care to go in the rain however. If anyone has any suggestions, please comment. Scouting out our locations for next season now.
