You my friend did exactly what I did. I mean exactly. I had a 400D fancied upgrading but couldn’t justify saw website MPB and saw a 1D Mark II N for £250, guess what happened I snapped their hand off. I love that camera. I bought it for motorsport as it had better focusing and faster shutter speed than the 400D. Glad you also love yours.
funny isn't it when you find out somebody has done the same as you, it makes you feel you made the right decision, a few weeks later I bought a used 7d mark 2 plus 2 more l series lenses.....omg, I just had to lol
Many years ago [the film days] as a young sports photographer I realized I needed tough gear that was durable and dependable and was able to function in inclement weather. I realized that I had to invest in solid gear, initially the gear I purchased was new pro gear. Yes, an expensive investment. As the years past I noticed a trend with some fellow sports photographers, they loved purchasing the latest greatest gear, more than they enjoyed capture compelling images. I noticed they were selling their high end gear whenever the camera companies came out with newer gear, gear that was not going to improve their photos at all! A little light went off in my head, I stopped buying new gear opting to purchase lightly used old pro gear. I have no regrets, I am able to make compelling images without paying the high price for new technology. A $6,000 USD camera does not become obsolete in six years or even ten years!
Yes you are absolutely right, saying that I just bought an canon r6 because my eye sight is not the best as I get older, so the view finder is excellent, also the eye tracking helps me so much, otherwise I would not of upgraded, I have no plans to change it unless it breaks down, saying that I could have bought the r5, but felt that it wasn’t worth the extra money as I’m am not a professional, it’s a hobby for me.
@@ourlifeafter50 , I heard great things about the R-5 and R-6. I am afraid that I may switch for the same reasons, my eyes are beginning to become a bit weak. Time waits for no one, my days of covering major sporting events are over. I have swapped out my mono-pod for a cane😀. Like you I am in in the hobby for fun status these days whenever my body allows for a photo adventure. Do you have a website or Twitter page?
