I didn't realize this video was so long ago, but it was to the point and the most helpful of ALL that I've watched. I've been searching everywhere to figure out which transmitter I needed as well as how to operate my flash more efficiently. Thank you 😊
Thanks for this. Saved my Bacon as I was setting up a shoot and totally forgot were they put the slave mode on the MK2 430EX. On the MK1 its a flick of a switch!
For long time not working with pictures I lost myself in time and technology. Before we use photo cell to synchronize 3 or 4 flash together. Clear my mind a ' slave ' flash will work the same way as photo cell? I have to adapt my self for this new technology ( 15 yrs without working with pictures... I acquire a Cannon camera and intend to buy a flash to work with it )
I honestly doubt that a standard flash that has a sync cord would trip a 430exII, as those signals go through the custom Canon cable or the hotshoe controls. If you are on a budget, just get one of the inexpensive chinese trippers. They are non-TTL, but if you have time, you can adjust your exposure.
Any clue why my Godox ct16 trigger doesn’t seem to be working? The triggers communicate fine with each other, same channels, ex slave mode is on. Any help please.
I have a Godox X1T transmitter mounted on a Canon 750D camera but I'm not able to fire this flash even if they're synced in the same channel and the same group. The red light of the flash continues to blink and I don't know what to do. So my question is: is the Canon EX430II compatibile only with canon triggers?
You can't use other brands to trigger a different brand flash unless it is specifically made to do so. Godox triggers will only trigger godox flashes (or flashpoint because they are the same manufacturer) but nikon, canon, sony, godox, profoto, neewer, etc will not all work with each other. You need to enable optical slave mode to use multiple brands but from what I can tell this flash does not offer that functionality.
Hi, how can I fire it by another flashes flash? Cant figure it out, on my older 430 EX it was much easier, there i just had to turn the button to slave and it was fine. Thanks man!
You'll have to setup your other flash as the master and assign what group you want the 430EX-II to be. Gary's tutorial demonstrates how to turn it into slave mode.
Hi! I have one question: can this speedlite shoot as a slave without being wirelessly connected to the camera? I mean, is it able to shoot in solidarity with the internal flash of the camera (photosensitive cell)? (I don`t know the exact term in english. In spanish is "disparar por simpatía"). Thank you!
The 430EX II does NOT have a built-in function to act as a Master flash. You would need a 3rd party accessory for that, and that would only allow the remote flash to be triggered in manual mode, not TTL.
Is there not a setting that I can use the Canon 430EXII wireless with the Canon Eos 6D without mounting a flash on top of the 6D? Or do you always need a second Canon TTL flash unit in order to fire the 430EXII? I have tried everything I see but it's not going off whatever I do so.....
+Lutte Kikker i just bought this tonight, for my softbox, and you DO need a ste2 transmitter, value of 299.00 dollars lol. i have a 270 ex 2 for my 6d which i wanted to use to fire the 430, but can't now lol.
Unless I'm mistaken, you can do it the opposite way because I think the 270 EX 2 can function as a slave without a transmitter, so mount the 430ex to your camera and use the 270 as the slave? Hope I'm not mistaking what you're trying to do...
does the 430exII have a photo cell so it can fire when other flashes fire ?or is the slave mode used for firing only with radio transmitters ? does the 430exII has a built in wireless trigger ? coult it work with 7d's wireless flash trigger ? thanks.
Hey, I use a regular strobe as a master triggered by cord and trying to get 430ex to work as a slave but I cant. Am I missing something? I set 430 M set power and zoom and switched to slave, red is blinking but nothing happens upon firing the master strobe.. Any insight?
Nice video! the manual mentions the ability to work as a manual flash and stroboscopic flash with wireless flash. Is this saying it can do what CHIMESTERDOTCOM asked about? I have hit the same wall.
I've carefully followed the instructions in this and the previous video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bwbBNZMskBo.html ) but my on-camera flash is still coming on. I use a Canon 760d. What am I doing wrong?
