Aphinat Rungrattawatchai can you please tell me how to fix? I have an EosRebel T3i won’t take pic or show menu via either the lens view or the usual LCD Screen view. The battery is good, I’ve tried several SD Cards of mine, and when I first insert battery I can view the iso setting at the bottom where info is displayed prior to taking a pic. However the shutter still won’t work, I press the button and nothing happens. I’ve tried putting in Manual mode and doing all this (suggestions in pinned comments) including using Manual Mode and MF switched on my lens, with stabilizing mode off and then again with it off. I’ve used a newly charged battery, and only when my camera is in a mode requiring the flash, will the red sensors come on to autofocus or “measure” the item I’m trying to focus on. But I can’t get it to take a pic, or look at/edit any photos previously taken on SDCard. One thing... I lost the eye cup... so that’s my next thing to try (buy and replace) and go thru all this again. Does anyone know a way to “reset” this thing to factory settings without being able to see the menu on the LCD screen? I thought I read somewhere about removing or replacing the battery while camera was on?? I need help!! I know my camera works.. gets power... I’m just about ready to cry because I can’t take a photo with it and my grandson was just born!! I’m missing precious memories! I’ll post a reply under here if the eye cup being replaced helps... but now, I’m also stuck at home during this COVID 19 outbreak, as AZ is under stay at home orders. So I’ll have to wait until eyecup gets delivered in the mail.. but on the bright side, I’ll have time to keep troubleshooting and reading the hopefully tons of suggestions that will no doubt come pouring in!! @@kelliebryant82 hahaha lol i laughed out loud on this comment... you got it right, savage...

It’s black silicone cover of the viewfinder that was loosened from it place which made it blocked the sensor. So the camera thought that you are looking through the viewfinder which makes the screen goes black. Try adjusting the silicone, maybe slide it off and insert it back again tightly, and see if that helps.

+Lyrics of Today Aw, so bad that you've got the same problem. My camera is okay now but I don't even know why the screen is back to normal. I only removed the lens and cleaned it, blow the dust off the LCD screen then try to open and close the screen a few times and, magically, it works! That might not be very helpful but it's all I did to get it back to work.

Menu > find the option CLEAR ALL CAMERA SETTING then wait for it to finish > go back to Menu > find the option LCD AUTO OFF > put it on disable. There good as new :)

Sydney Esdelle The rubber which covers around the viewfinder. Try pushing it down through it’s slot.

In the end I found that it was the proximity sensor (the infra-red used sensor for detecting whether the user is looking into the finder) blocked by the dislocated rubber eye cup. Because the sensor was blocked, the camera thought that I kept looking into the finder, so it turned off the LCD. I fixed it by pressing the eye cup down..... If any of you have similar problems because the proximity sensor is actually broken, go to menu -> LCD auto off -> Disable."

There is a proximity censor above the view finder. A rubber casing is fixed to it. Adjust the rubber and the issue is resolved.
