I have a question with the processing part. I have kept the photo mode as RAW+JPEG in canon 90D. When I am processing the same in DPP4, I am getting two images of the photo. One is R and the other is named as J. How can I process the same. In the tutorial I can see processing of R only. I cant see a combined processing. Please help
On view settings, background color: I really needed to be able to set it to white, I edit pictures to be displayed on a white background, and when editing i dpp I always under expose/contrast because they look brighter against the dark background. Is there a way to add that option myself? Like in darktable where you can code in through css?
Is it possible to save as DNG file? There is a Transfer to Photoshop option in the menus but i need to edit the Raw file in other app. When i tried the latest version i faced unnatural skin tones in CR2 files. There is no problem in CR3 files.
I export as a 16 bit TIF. The quality is exactly the same as a DNG with all the same information, you don’t lose anything. The TIF file can then be loaded into any other editing app. The downside is, TIF files are about 3-4 times larger than DNG files.
Hi Stephen, thank you for watching. So a RAW file is what comes straight out of the camera, it does not have any effects applied to it, it is just pure RAW file that contains all the data of the photo. Once you apply any sort of effects to it, it is no longer considered a RAW file because some of that original data is changed. So once saved it will not be a RAW file anymore. That's the way I understand it anyways. Hope that helps.
