How so, for filming B-roll and your surfers up close or are you going to rig this on a tripod with a long lens?

@@hawaiifreespeechnews Hi. It depends. If Tahiti or Fiji, just hand hold (or with saddle bag) in the boat, but tricky stabilisation. But for Pipeline or Nazare, it needs sturdy tripod.

Really depends on what you shoot mostly. The C300iii DGO sensor is amazing. We own 2x C70s that are working well and still looks awesome today. That said the C400 is quite an all rounder. My considerations would be if your work requires: 1. To shoot in low light like in docu where there is no time/manpower to light 2. Need faster AF like in events If these are not crucial I will be happy milking the C300iii.

@@VulcanworxSG Thanks! May I ask, if you have experience with the C70, how does it compare in terms of dynamic range with it? For my line of work, the capacity of pushing the sensor to its limits with natural light is key.

The C70 looks nicer imo. The image is less digital. Better roll off too. That DGO sensor is slower but the D.R is greater. ​@@urielsantistebanfilms

If you really knew what “cinematic” means you really wouldn’t state that! I’m telling w/o hate… go educate yourself a bit!

We have shot with the BMCC 6K and many other cameras. Honestly speaking the big brands all look good out of the box today. What I find outstanding in Canon cameras is in lit indoor scenes. We have got really good images out of the C70 and we feel the C400 will be as good or even better given the 3 base ISO.

While I haven't used a C400 yet, I have frequently used a C70, C300iii and C500ii in RAW and compressed codecs as well as the Full Frame BM6K and I can honestly say that the Blackmagic is in a legue of it's own and not in a good way. The image is noisy with the ugliest skin tones (which is saying something because normally I enjoy BMs colour science quite a lot) and with less dynamic range and IMO an unusable 2nd native ISO and horrid rolling shutter. But it's a very affordable camera so it's not unacceptable, just disappointing.

@@chakk0 True but the R3’s normal color profile is so good right out of the camera. Made this a great video recording camera especially because of the quick autofocus and great low light recording not to mention is also has a good digital IBIS. I would hope this camera would at least match those positives within the R3. I would love for the C400 to be a good run and gun camera because I would hate to mount that thing on a gimbal

@@hawaiifreespeechnews I know i have the r3 but it's despite its great features not as nice as a c300 mark 3 for example. Clog3 is a super bummer and i mostly use the r3 for gimbal only
