A breath of fresh air of a review that has a short docu segment in it. Not just the average image sample comparison, noise and dynamic range tests which is important too but.
The doc is so nice, images clean and vibrant, the subject Tuoyu she's such a joy and so loveable. Johnnie thanks so much for finding these little gems, you're a master of the craft.
Watching this, not once I thought about the camera... Who gives a crap about a camera when you have a story... There are no bad cameras anymore... Good job Johnnie: started with strong emotion - had my attention right away. Well done!
The CineD approach to camera reviews are so helpful and informative because you include mini docs in the video. Which is a great way of seeing the camera in real world situations. I'm surprised more creators don't add some kind of narrative demonstration in their reviews. It's a priceless means of bringing so much more depth to what may otherwise be a stale review that looks like every other review. Great work! CineD FTW!
"When you have lots of options...you have no options." That is such a powerful line. Thank you for another great video/doc. I've been a fan since the Sony A7S2 days-- still remember the review/doc from that camera review as well too.
I'm just here for the mini doc. I always enjoy your intimate portraits of people that I think I'd like to know better. This is one of the best yet. Well done!! The R5's are a better fit for me but this appears to be a solid release from Canon.
What wonderful content you share with us - thank you. The mini documentaries are beautifully crafted and are far more engaging than the actual gear reviews (but those are appreciated too).
The only downside with Johnnie Behiri's sample mini-doc footage is that they are so damned interesting, that one gets so engrossed in the story that you forget to check the image quality in various scenarios of the camera! Johnnie is a master at his craft. There again, the camera must be good as it didn't detract from the storytelling and any camera that can do that consistently in various light and stability modes (tripod, handheld etc) then that camera must be a win. This camera is very tempting even for someone like myself who has invested into the Sony ecosystem.
I dont understand how im supposed to properly expose an image if theres not a viewfinder on a camera but thats a great piece of kit, and a very wonderful documentary subject.
Hey. Step 1: If you have access to DaVinci Resolve, then import the audio file to it and apply "voice isolation" to about 50% (This will ensure keeping the voice natural). Step 2: Use the "equalizer" to boost bass (Just a little) and that's it!
Do you consider interpolation from 6k to 4k to be the best solution to increase the density of color information, since information from neighboring pixels is combined into one channel?
It's ridiculous not to have any full-frame modes over 30fps. Is it possible with an external recorder like Atomos and is it possible to record over USB to an external drive with higher frame rates and codecs? RAW. RAW HQ?
I feel that C-Log 3 is enabling me to be less precise with exposure. As a "one-man band" having the camera for a limited time, next to a very tight self editing/coloring schedule,, it was the right thing to do. Thank you.
WHAT A WONDERFUL DOCUMENTARY…. WOW compliment for you and the Lady!! Will the EF-RF 0.71x Mount Adapter (used on the (my) C70) still be usefull? And will the C80 record MP4 (in case needed…) Thank you for an answer…
You could use that adapter, but you'd have to put the C80 in Super35 mode. Since the C80 has a full frame sensor, you could simply get an RF to EF adapter (standard, control ring, or drop-in filter style) and get the true full frame field of view from your EF lenses.
10:55 video in front of the window, in this place the c70 would have coped better despite the fact that the difference in the dynamic range is minimal. The details outside the window would be visible.
This voiceover of her crying caught me pretty much off guard. Well it´s a good camera but this short really shows the filmmaker is worth the money not the gear.
I think there should be no video camera in 2024 cant shoot full frame in no less than 60fps. i still find FX6 is more practical than C400 or C80. I don't like having different frame rate having different resolution, codec and fov. Other than Fullframe, 6K and Triple ISO this camera is cripple hammer.
Ummm it’s nice but the best value for money cinema cameras have and will remain the pocket cinema cameras until one of these brands releases a legit cinema camera with internal raw and pro-res for under 2k
Ive not been following the C70 as HDMI only and S35 with no RF s35 zoom to match made it a 'problem child'. Full frame, the 24-105 and 28-80 lenses make this very appealing. I guess the AF is a bit more sticky than my C200. Thats a big deal :)
Too sharp, aliasing in the hair, harsh highlights.. where? On a 5k display I see none of this. Aliasing can show up on just about any 4k footage if it's played back on a low resolution display.
If it’s again more than 2k, it simply can’t be suited for broke indie filmmakers. With that money you film a professional short movie with your phone. Dollar for dollar- my C100 beats it in value.
