@kristofferpence Thanks for your comment. We agree, the EOS 600D is a great piece of equipment. The higher range cameras are also more durable, have more features and have more robust autofocus systems, amongst other things. Many thanks, the Canon team.

Thanks for your comment - besides a better build, the internals of an EOS 7D is very different from that of an EOS 1000D - focusing and the image sensors are also different. Please visit an authorised Canon reseller in store and have a play with the EOS 7D to get a feel for this difference. Many thanks, the Canon team.

I have the 60D as my first DSLR. Love it to bits, and the tilt screen is perfect for getting some crazy angles when doing street photog. as well as for film =] Thankyou canon!

@97purna If you're just going for more portrait and less sport, go for the 550D with the L lens. The glass is what matters the most :)

@182popeye I'd suggest Canon EOS 550D with the best lens you can afford.

@182popeye It has little to do with the camera what your talking about is a lens. A great lens to blur background thats not to expensive is the 50 1.4 it is great for portraiture but if you had a point and shoot the lens wont let you zoom in or out. Another alternative is to go with an everyday lens like the ones listed above and blurring traffic lights will be done by taking the lens off Auto Focus and making the lens out of focus until you get the desired effect

if you want more 'professional look' to your pictures, best investment is getting lenses and learn how to process your pictures after you have taken them. once you have done that, look to step up to a full frame dslr

This video was uploaded on 2009. so the 60 is not yet release. 60D was released on 2010 if i am not mistaken... pretty sure the 60D will be in between the 50D and 5D according to this video. :)

so the lower the number the better, does this means the 100D is way better than the 700D, or is that about the number of digits? 2 digits being better cameras than 3 digits

1st of all I use £ : Ok I'm looking to get into photography with a DSLR but I don't know where to start theses are my main needs. Video recording (if applicable) 40 fps+ Long shutter speeds (30 seconds+) relatively fast shutter speeds +++++++++++++++++++++++ I'm only earning £15 a week because i'm 13 so I'll probably get a DSLR second hand, I know a fair bit about SLRs as I am using an old SLR (film) with a 200 mm lens. So I use a 600D with L lenses. I cannot seem to find ANY reason to upgrade to the 7D as far as for image quality. The ISO noise is identical, and the pictures are nearly the same, though VERY slightly different. Why would I want to go to the 7D? I dont really need the magnesium alloy body or weather sealing or 8 frames per second.. So why would i upgrade if the ISO performance is identical?

I've got a Canon eos 1000d, which I got some years back. It's a great camera, but I am considering a 7d, because I want a more professional look in my photographs - but it's quite an investment.. what are the big differences? can I "just" settle with buying a new, and greater lens for my 1000d?

@MrElmokadem omg! please don't ask this kind of question again.. its just like going to mcdonalds and ask them which chicken tastes better? mcdonalds or KFC? btw.. i think 550d or d90 would be a better comparison cause they are near the price range.. go for the 550d.. its newer..or better yet the 600d..it depends on your budget

@97purna Hmm... can you afford to add another 2-300 USD? Because then you can get the 50mm f/1.4, which is a workhorse of a lens compared to the 1.8/1.8 II.. then 70-200 f/4 is a great option. I currently have the IS version of the f/4 and it may not be an f/2.8 IS II, but it does a great job and I'm loving it. But that's a good combination. My body is the 60D and it's great. No regrets with it :) But I'm still saving up for another body. Perhaps a 5D Mark II :)

or if he/she can afford them, the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM or the 24-105mm f/4 IS USM (good bokeh can be achieved at 100mm at f/4 due to compression).

i don't know a lot about cameras, but i wish to be a photographer when i leave school (maybe next year) so first thing i want to ask is do these cameras use normal batteries or do you just charge them from a socket? this may look like a stupid/funny question but i have never held one. second does anyone have any tips or share anything a tall with me. thanks :)

@TheCoFreshShow I have this camera with the kit lens same as you i got the 50mm f1.8 lens for £70 brilliant lens, My next lens I will be getting is the 75-300mm zoom lens £100 to £150 it looks good. You can get these on eBay hope it helps you.

i have one if you start buying lenses then go for a 5d completely differnt lenses wont fit. pictures are very good has lcd that rotates happy with it but don t lke spend much more on lenses cause its a crop sensor not full frame everyon has 5d but cost a fortune

@willdrill482 Then I'd invest in lenses first and worry about a new body later :) Try an L lens like a 24-105 or a 24-70 :) if you can afford it though, but there are many great lenses to choose from :)

Sorry, I like NIKON and PENTAX. I don't like Canon , I don't like cheap Canon Lenses and Canon break down with heavier use, but again people have different preferences!!!!
