Hi Everyone The EOS R5 offers class-leading autofocus with high-resolution and high frame rate video recording options using the maximum width of the full-frame sensor at high bit rates. Inevitably, this combination of features has potential to generate some significant heat, which will limit recording time. While concerns of overheating are speculation only at this time - given no final production EOS R5 models have been released -we have taken many steps to ensure the final product will be able to cope with movie shooting heat. These include: • Magnesium alloy was used in the body to dissipate heat away from internal components. • An “overheat control” function to reduce heat generation when the camera is in standby. • An inbuilt flash warning that alerts to when the internal temperature of the camera rises due to the processing power. We're making every effort to be transparent in relation to recording times, see below numbers as a guide. When the ambient temperature is 23°C and the camera begins recording from a “cold start,” the approximate maximum shooting time depends on the movie format setting, as follows. (Settings of 30 minutes or more is when recording is stopped and started immediately again after 29 minutes and 59 seconds.) • 8KRAW30p: approx. 20 min. • 8K30p: approx. 20 min. • 4K60p Uncropped: approx. 35 min. • 4K High-quality 30p: approx. 30 min. • 4K60p Cropped： approx. 25 min. Please note: if the temperature of the camera’s circuits rises due to shooting conditions or environment/weather conditions, the maximum duration of recording may be less than shown above.

As someone who owns a GH5, Canon 80D and Canon 5D MkIV, Overheating is not a issue, how many cameras shoot more than 15 minutes video between scenes? If you are doing higher runs, maybe a C200/300/500 is a better solution? My wife (5D bird photographer ) and I only care about how sharp the image is in photo and video and how bad line skipping or pixel binning destroy sharpness, if it is sharp, we cannot wait to try one :)

they showcase 45 or 50 or 61 megapixels camera on full hd video for years. i dont see the problem

@@telemaq76 yes... But HD on a 2.1mp camera is better then on a 61 🙂 Cuz they line skip... And of course better if oversample from higher resolution

At the VERY LEAST, upload the video in 4k smh. There's no way to gauge the image quality here. It just looks mushy. C'mon this is simple stuff.

@@shonen84 I'm in EU and the cheapest local store offers R5 for 4859 euro which is $5500. It's cheaper to fly to US and pick it from B&H.

Did you try 20fps electronic shutter and was there any rolling shutter or banding? How was the dynamic range compared to Sony in stills?

Hey! Due to the increased processing speeds of the EOS R5, it is unlikely that you will experience a rolling shutter while shooting at 20FPs. As for dynamic range, we do not quote this in our specs as there are no industry standards.

Just wait until unbiased reviews & production models are out in the wild before buying. Don't forget these cameras are just 2nd generation mirrorless for Canon the cameras are normally perfected @ 3rd generation.

Strawberry Kiys that’s absolute rubbish. I edit 4K all the time and it’s not a nightmare if you know what you’re doing. Also if you’re showcasing a 4K camera then you should be uploading in 4K. Canon is releasing 8K cameras and Blackmagic just announced 12k. 1080 is finally dead.

@@JZA_007 then what? you can make a commercial for a 12k camera in 720p. you can make a commercial for a 60k 8k videoprojector in black and white . and again it s not a review, it s a commercial. when you see a commercial for parfum on tv, do you have parfum on your tv? when you see a commercial for a oled 4k 75 inch tv on a magazine do you have a 4k image? this video is not supposed to show you the image quality of the video made by the camera..

It a promotional video yes , but I’d sooner watch brand ambassadors etc than the army of fake independent reviewers whom only really chirp for Sony & let me guess they’ve already started . Canon in the Europe & USA online streams already & openly talked about the overheating issues, to the limits , as to environmental factors influencing the result.
