01. [00:31] pull out the paper tray
02. [00:44] watch bottom of the printer (optional)
03. [01:28] Press "Menu → 2 → 8 → Menu"
04. [01:47] Select "Copier → Function → VIFFNC → FD-R-CHG"
05. [02:25] watch "the feeder roller" rolling (optional)
06. [02:53] caution (important)
07. [03:26] pull out "the feeder roller"
08. [05:35] relocate "rubber"
09. [07:45] put back "the feeder roller"
10. [08:05] restart the printer (important)
11. [08:32] put the paper tray back

thank you, I followed your instructions and fixed my printer. In my model the small tabs that you need to open for the roller to be removed where white.

Currently I am having problems with lines (streaks) that appear in the printed pages. I tried the cleaning functions of the menu but with no luck. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

@@cghera may b it's from tonner and 2 it's in ur fuser film . So try a self test page from printer . If same borrow catridge from someone and try test page. I hope it will fix ur issue . Fuser film is little expensive .

@@cghera On other laser printers, I've often seen this result from toner dust on the mirror in the imaging unit. Not sure how hard the imaging mirror is to get at on these printers, but if the lines are stable, then change if the printer is severely tilted, that's the likely cause.

Thank you 🙏. Fixed the problem of paper jams. I found it easiest to push forward & then remove the thin clip holding the rubber. It's very thin & I broke it but fixed with superglue & baking soda. Thank you

Worked on my Canon Mf8380cdw. The button sequence was a little different but virtually the same. This printer has been a great one.

It is a clear instruction to show how to fix the paper jam problem by just simply replacing the roller. Actually I was frustrated with the frequent paper jam for my Canon printer. Thank you so much for this valuable video.

Superb how-to video, thank you so much! This fixed the issue in my Canon ImageClass MF8380Cdw as well. It too was frequently giving me the error "incorrect size/setting drawer 1" after printing the first page of a multi-page document. Note to others attempting this repair: the roller will only lock into place one way, but can be inserted two ways. If it is not latching or going into place, try turning it around 180° while holding it to insert it back into the printer (that is, around the axis you move it along as you insert it back into the printer).

Hi @@Broder1ck - On my system I pressed the menu button, then 2, then 8, then the menu button. Nothing will show on the screen and you won't hear any beeps as you do this, but the menu will change to the service menu. This seems pretty standard for the MF8300 line of printers, so it should work for you. Good luck!

Thanks a lot! On my LBP-7680Cx printer the service mode entry is different (Power off, ONLINE+Cancel Job buttons held while powering on, then Menu button will present service menu with rather understandable menu entries). But the feeder roller is the same, and your tips on where to press and where to pull were very helpful, and the trick with the roller reuse is just great.

Thanks to the description, I was able to clear the paper jams on my MF8330. Only the unlocking is slightly different with this printer. Thank you very much, you saved my day. I didn't expect the solution to be that simple. It was the first time that I had a printer repair fun.

I was about to trash my iSensys MF8330CDN because of the paper size errors occuring every second pages. This instruction helped to resolve the issue and I have a fully functional printer again.

This is by far the the most useful DIY video I have seen. I was just about to take my Canon Mf8350cdn to an electronic recycling center. Paper was jamming every other page. Brilliant! So much thank you!! 대박입니다. 주의해야 할 부분 강조해주셔서 조심스럽게 꺼내서 3분만에 해결했어요. 너무 감사해요. 꺼낸 다음에 다시 낄려니까 방향이 있어서 잠시 고민했는데, 롤러 끼워야 할 부분 자세히보고 모양 맞춰서 끼웠는데 잘 맞았습니다. 어제밤에 belt dressing 이란 약품을 주문해 놨었는데 앞으로 7-8년은 롤러 고장날 일 없을것 같고, 드럼이나 다른부분이 더 먼저 고장 날것 같군요 ^^;;

Until recently I had problems with my Canon MF6550 jamming every few prints, then it became every other print, and now it jams every time I try to print. I'm so frustrated I want to throw my printer out the window. I will try your method to see if it works or if my printer gets added to the local landfill.

Google Search for "mf8080 roller" (change for your model if necessary but this search comes up with results and the part looks the same for a large series of printers). It's only 5-10 dollars. There are a few stockists in UK and US. Maybe more... Depends where you are of course.
