Canon MX922 a Scam? My Review 

I have had this printer for years. It is great to setup wirelessly and has great print quality. It is rather noisy so I keep it in another room (constantly clicking and rolling, it sometimes takes a while to print and other times it prints immediately). You CAN use knock off cartridges. They work great. It has no rear feeder so card stock will always get stuck when feeding from the main tray. Utility bar is great for scanning as you can scan multiple pages easily.

I'm happy that some people like this printer. I have had nothing but trouble with mine. I don't print much, but od enough to keep the ink flowing, however I had to return the printhead for exchange, shortly after I bought the printer. It is about 1&1/2 years old and everything prints wrong or doesn't print at all. When it decides to print right, it does a very nice job, but I never know how it is going to print.

Just purchased the Canon today. Nice design...not too heavy, if you want it lighter than than it would be a transistor radio lightness. I meant it is good weight, and you feel it is very well built...and knowing money well spent for all the stuff within it. May as well get the warranty plan while your at it!

I have to say this printer works great. But like you said it is slow but it works great. And this works better than the hp I had before. And the ink lasts longer and is cheeper than my old hp

You forgot to mention it's one of the few printers that still prints onto (printable) CD/DVD.

I have had mine since 2016 ish. It still works great. Been using it to work from home throughout the pandemic. Still working from home and using it daily. But now I’m trying to figure out if I can print nice coloring PDFs from it but I’m afraid to jam it with a heavier paper. And since I use it for work, not sure I should experiment with papers.

This printer has thousands of 5 star reviews on amazon. I bought one for my son 2 years ago and was so impressed, I bought one for myself even though I already have 8 printers in the office. It has become my most used printer. My son does a few thousand pages a month, I do a few hundred plus photos. Photos come out awesome using compatible cartridges at under 1.50 each. Ink costs have never been lower. It is a little slower than my other printers but not by that much. It seemed a little plasticy at first and I expected it not to last, but it has. When the printer works, it's great. The first one failed. It was cheaper to buy another one than to repair. My wife has a newer one... the one I have was the second one and now, it's all error messages. I've cleaned the head successfully several times... now it won't recognize a new cartridge, I checked the contact pins-they look good and I tried serversseveral fix-its with holding down buttons and pulling electrical plugs. Canon is mostly silent on any real work arounds. I'm dumb-founded why a well-reputed company would do this. I like it for the CD/DVD printing and duplexing features. Error code 1600= printer death to me.

Have you had the B200 error yet? It is clearable but I had four print jobs lined up and the B200 reappeared during the third job! UPDATE: CANON USA NOW TELL ME THAT B200 on a Pixma mx922 MEANS GO OUT AND BUY ANOTHER PRINTER. Or more properly, it means can we sell you another printer. This is now the third time I have had this problem. With the 822, another 922 which someone gave me when it exasperated them enough and now with this one! I had found a few ways of getting around the B200. Unplugging and then printing a test page from the printer or a head alignment CAN do it. But none of them frustrate Canon's methodology for getting you to buy another printer. From them. Unless you had a Pixma MX822 in the past and were taken in by their error message on that printer, which tells you to go out and buy a new print head, which costs about the used value of the whole printer. Before you discover that what the error means is YOUR PRINTER HAS DIED (but we managed to make some more money out of you before you chuck it away)! Then, suddenly the promise of a discount on an unreliable product doesn't sound so attractive.

I've had this printer for awhile and never had any issues until lately. Now it's giving blank pages but not all the time. It happens printing from the computer and making copies from the printer itself. It actually sounds like it is printing but the paper comes out blank.

My printer ink head is blocked and will not work even though I used the maintenance feature on the printer; what can I do to repair this? TIA

Perhaps the most irritating product I have ever purchased. Unfortunately I purchased two. Clean clean clean clean, eating expensive ink. Turn it on, it cleans for two minutes. Immediately print two pages, it cleans again for 40 seconds It wastes my time and money for ink. Want it to use black ink only? Don't click grayscale. It uses all colors to print greyscale. I had to manually configure a printing profile to have it use only black ink. On the positive side, it prints very well, until it dies reporting a print head failure after two years. Then, it will perform NO function. It won't even scan. I won't purchase another Canon product.

I really hate mine. Slow to connect to phone when printing from other rooms wirelessly. Loud. Slow. Will not feed paper too often. I'm in the market for a replacement but don't know where to start.

How do you fix the blurry printing of word documents?

I have a nice condition MX922 that just stopped working. info says it requires service, but when I asked about it, I was told there are no parts to repair available. I bought a newer one, but hate to throw this one away. I will give this one for free if someone wants to come pick it up or pay for shipping.

i hate how fast it goes through the ink. we hardly use it and have to refill often

Can I scan to cloud and scan to email?

Can this printer run strictly by a smart phone?

I’ve seen others enjoy this printer. As a crafter my needs are to print mostly photos and art on card stock and heavy weight card stock. Can it be used without a computer? I only have an iPad Pro and with shipping and everything it will cost me about $250-300 would that really be worth it?

Has anyone figured out how to print legal size paper on this printer show you can print a spreadsheet on one piece of paper
