1. Sharper images 2. No video time restrictions 3. An on/off button redesign that doesn't break off over time. 4. Fast switching to video to photo without menu diving. 4. 6K video compressed to 4k makes for sharper video 5. Better Autofocusing (Yes, I owned the orginal R6 6. Better natural color science ( Mark 1 was warmer) 7. Twice the burst rate for electronic shutter 8. Faster processor. Anyway, I could go on but for $200 extra if you HAVEN'T bought the R6, just get the Mark II. The Mark II is what the R6 should have been all along. Nobody wants a crippled R6 for that kind of money.
Fair enough. But in my country they sold off the r6 in a flash sale for roughly 1000us$ whereas the mark ii is over 2000us$. I snapped up the r6 because I don’t need any of the improvements the mark ii offers. Yes it would be nice but for 1000$ a brand new r6 that’s more than enough for what I do, I could not let this pass. So far absolutely love it on top of my 6d ii.
An honest and fresh review. I've got the R6 Mk II last week and I'm still testing it. Having the R6 original too, I've found the human eye AF is a bit more stickier and fast to acquire on the R6 Mk II. It took me some time to find the best settings since it has a different logic and AF menus than the R6. I'm still testing the new body and one of the drawbacks is not Canon's fault but Adobe's since Ligthroom is not updated for the standard tethered capture (I use that a lot for product and portraits, and I don't like the auto import way). That said, I can develop R6 Mk II's CR3 files without any issues and I find more faithful colors than with the R6 which has a bit of deviation towards the warm tones. The battery performance is quite better on the R6 Mk II. Other things I like: custom volume for AF beep and other functions even on electronic shutter, I can edit the Q menu and have quick access to the detection of different subjects, the high frequency and auto detect anti flicker, and many other small things that help. I have more options when customising the buttons. The video section changed a lot with a very good 4K 60fps, the 180fps FHD , C1 to 3 custom for video and a 2nd Q menu for video, overheating timers solved and 30' limit does not exist anymore. I will probably make a video about all small changes I've found and nobody talks about. Cheers from Buenos Aires!
I’m not sure why I watched this video as I have owned the R6m2 for a couple years now but I liked your 15-35mm video so I clicked on this one! I have read your words on negative comments being the reason you stopped making videos. That’s a shame. I’m feeling the need to rant right now and I’m bored, so I’m gonna let it rip! First, you cannot let negative people hamper you from doing something you enjoy. People are jerks in general and having the security of being online (anonymous) really allows jerky people go full jerkwad. Ignore them. Second, if you don’t love making videos then by all means, bail on it. Just don’t quit because of comments. I have a channel and I don’t make a ton of videos either but it’s due to my work life. I’m a deputy sheriff and I have a weird life in the sense I am sleeping when most people are awake. It’s not conducive to making creative content. Plus, in all honesty, I’m ugly so I’m probably doing the world a favor by not blasting my face out there! But I’m not holding back on making videos because some people make stupid comments. I find it to be a weakness in myself if I allow other people to dictate how I do what I want with my life. Not to mention most people will not be bold enough to say the things they say online to your face. I actually get a bit of satisfaction reading negative comments. I feel it shows I impacted that person to the point they felt obligated to type a comment out to me. Positive or negative, whatever I said or did influenced another human to the point they were motivated to say something. I won that situation! After all, they could’ve just clicked away. Okay, rant over. I like your videos. I watched 3 of them. Yeah, you play with your hair a lot but that’s probably something you do in real life off camera so I feel it shows authenticity on your part! Keep doing vids. Most consumers of RU-vid like authentic people and will gravitate toward channels run by real, unpolished, unapologetic people. I wish you the best either way!
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I actually have 3 RU-vid channels and this one just had the most negativity so I haven't had the motivation to post here. I have an art channel where I post 3 videos a week and I am having a blast with that! I may still post more here, I am getting to the point where I can ignore the rude comments more. I guess after you hear them a lot, they start to lose their meaning. Make sense? Anyway, thank you for watching! You have encouraged me to film another video soon.
I've tested both R6 & R6 Il and there is a difference in IQ and autofocus between the two. If you have the extra cash to spend then get the R6II for sure.
I’m considering getting the R6 II. I have the 70-200 f2.8 lens but don’t use it much because it’s so heavy that I can’t hold it steady enough to get sharp photos without at least a monopod. Since you’re a woman who looks to be similar size and muscle to me, I’m wondering if the IBIS, coupled with the lens stabilization, is adequate to allow you to handhold this lens on the R6 II & get sharp photos.
Did you end up getting the R6 Mark II? I have the 5D Mark IV and got this. I am still learning the camera but also plan on keeping my 5D Mark IV so I can have a second body to mount 2 lenses. Nice review
@@LavishGracePhotography, since I didn’t already have mirrorless I decided to go with the most recent version. I photograph sports (mainly roller derby) and the 40 fps is a bit overkill but may come in handy on occasion. But I will most likely stay with the mechanical shutter and 12 fps will work for a majority of what I need. Plus at 40, I would have far more photos to go through if I did that constantly
@@zosozoso2 They are both great quality wise. I have almost all EF lenses and one in particular, the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary works much better with the 5DM4. If I do any photos of the moon for example with that lens, I prefer the 5DM4. The eye detection of the R6M2 though works great with spot on focus, it just sometimes picks people in the background instead of the subject I want it to focus on.
Did you consider a R5 as 2nd body? I find the option to crop to APSC and still have 20MP images quite tempting - this makes one's existing lens collection much more versatile. R5 prices went down recently, and now the gap to the R6II isn't that big anymore.
I honestly have thought about it. But I really have no need for that big of files. It takes up more storage space, and I would have to buy new memory cards. I don't normally crop my photos enough for the megapixels to be an issue for me. 😊
I fully agree on all this, and didn't take into account the CFexpress card slot - this one could get annoying... As for the R8: I'd try to avoid mixing battery formats as much as mixing memory card formats 😅
I am still doing photography! I am on my 15th year of being a photographer. I took a break from videos due to all the negative comments. I plan on doing more videos in the future though! Thank you so much for your sweet comment!!
Hey the video it's ok, all looks natural, and maybe because you don't have script you feel this pressure, make more video about field experience , client shoots maybe
I don't use scripts because I want my videos to feel like I am talking to a friend and not reading a pamphlet of information. If that's not your style I get it. I do have several videos out on shoots as well. This one was just a quick overview of my time with the R6 mark ii. I did not have time to film with it on a shoot. Thank you for your input.
