Some interesting calculators you got there, Joe! Just this weekend I found a Canon P4-D, same model as we had at home when I grew up. It uses ink instead but it's dried up ofcourse. So I'm thinking about letting it soak up a bit with some Molotow ink.
For a bit of calculator-related fun, you should check out Numberphile videos featuring Matt Parker, who did a series of comedic calculator unboxing videos, and Cliff Stoll (of Cuckoo’s Egg game) who did videos about the Curta, the Millionaire, the Friden EC-132, and his Electric Slide Rule. My current favorite calculator, btw, is my Casio A53W-1 calculator watch, similar to what I had when I was 8. Cheers!
I got the v1 for 2.50 at Goodwill. The hardest part is finding paper that fits. So I'm just gonna buy the cheapest smallest bar clamp I can find and use that as a roll holder.
Mom got me a TI2500 for school. No memory. Just basic calculations. Second I pull it out I get sent to the office. It’s taken from me and I’m suspended. My mom came and hit the roof. Guess that’s why I’m a early adopter to this day. I still have it.
Loved seeing the small thermal printing calculator and we own the CASIO version, the Casio HR-5. Uses the small thermal rolls. The calculator works great, but I can’t find the small thermal rolls any longer. 1.5” x 14’. Just can’t find them. Then I located them on a website ACEDEPOT.com, ordered the small thermal rolls and they never arrived. I tried to contact ACEDEPOT.com and no response. So I’m back to having no resources to locate those rolls. Love these small thermal printing calculators but you can’t use them without those small rolls...
