I agree, but I've found (as another owner of this camera) that you can get a decently flat image by setting the camera to cinema mode (rather than full manual), setting filter 1 at the lowest contrast and medium brightness, an along side a good ND filter (variable). Then just punch in the details in post.

Hello I am trying to figure out the settings on a G20 to do a time lapse video any help would be appreciated.

What setting did you use? I have tried every different setting and tried adjusting my gain, but for dark areas mine always comes out with a huge amount of noise

After about a year, are you still satisfied with the G20? I'm not really sure if I should get the G20 or G30. Would you fork over $500 more for the G30?

i have the Same Camera the HF G20 great Camera I used it to record my Nephew Live Concert with an External Condense Mic the Sound is incurable and the best thing that I like about it is the I can control the Sound level Apeture F Stop etc... I never shoot on Auto always on Manual it is the Best way to go. On this Video the Video look Shakie because it been use hand heald of course but that doesn't matter to me since it is hand held. I use Pinnacle HD to Edit my videos I don't loose quality with it. it depend on What Software you use to edit with.

Author, would you consider this camera better than a DSLR video, for example the Nikon D3300 or Canon EOS Rebel T5? If so please outline the reasons why. Also, can I have an email address to get more into my questions related on what I do? Thanks

I'm a photographer studying videography and editing, I already have a DSLR that is good enough for photography but I'm not sure if get a DSLR with video full HD or this camera. Someone with more experience then me around here?

Can this take still pictures?

i kno the potential of this cam, its fantastic, but if i didnt kno that i would be hesitant to buy it because of this video lol to shake, contrast is to crazy lol but i see u enjoy it, n thats fine with me.

Great Video. Is this Cinema Standard filter? Doesn't this have the other filters like Old Movies and Nostalgic?
