It's a shame you didn't demonstrate the sound of the scan head moving back to the start position! My LiDE 400 sounds very loud when the scan head moves back to the start position but I can't find any videos online that show how it's supposed to sound.
Hi, I enjoy your videos. I only need the Lide400 for scanning 8.5 X 11 photos only. Any suggestions the best way to get optimum quality. I ended up setting up 3600 (couldn't get it to go highter). It took a long time, however, the quality was lousy. My old Brother at 2400 was perfect, but the updates only allow up to 1200 now. I likely didn't do the presets correctly on the new Canon. I would really appreciate any suggestions. I'm not really computer literate, but would finalize any results with Adobe Photoshop aferwards. Thanks a lot for any help. Ron
To be honest, for photos the best would be CS9000F which does not sell as new anymore. Any resolution above 1200 dpi does not bring much to the quality. Use the Scangear advanced mode for scanning photos - run Scangear from IJ Scan Utility. I have my material ready to publish for LiDE, but cannot find time for all the editing...
@@PrintCloud Thanks for your reply. Looking forward in yu addressing this in the future. It's shameful that my old Brother did 2400 in perfect definition. You couldn't tell the difference with it and the original. At 3600 with the Canon, it''s really lousy. Thanks gain. Ron
