Beautiful and invigorating. My elementary age daughter and I listened it on a summer night hymn walk - just the two of us holding hands. My son, on the way to preschool was upset when I turned it off to take a call, remarking “I like that song.” I grew up with this and wanted to share it with the next generation.
On the 4th Sunday of Advent, Dec. 19 the pastor was talking about Mary and her rejoicing in her role as servant of God. He had the sound to play “Canticle of the Turning” (not this version) kind of at the end. That just hooked me bigtime. The first thing I did when I got home was to find the song on RU-vid and everything else I could find. There were many other recordings of the song. I found this version of it that I really liked and have been playing it over and over again. I love it. The Point was that this song was about Mary and the Magnificat. You know, I have read this over many times, but never stopped to meditate on what she was saying. It is such a beautiful meditation. I can just see her dancing around her one room mud house in total ecstasy trying to comprehend what Gabriel had just told her. In the end, in joyous submission to God. “Let it be to me according to your word.” Hallelujah.
This is very well done! Loved the diversity of the people in the video. Always loved this song, but this recording took it to a whole new level. Thank you for sharing it. God is good. Pam from Milwaukee.
This is excellent - thank you!! Greetings from Winnipeg, Canada, where we've been making music through this pandemic time, as well! Peace and blessings!
This video has really blessed me today! Two weeks ago our assistant pastor handed out the lyrics for this song and it has become one of my favorites. Thank you all so much for putting this together!
Nice energy! May we have your permission to use this in a weekly on-line worship experience for our church? It's a great way to reach out to new friends near and far. Thanks for sharing your gifts. Pete
Might I use this fantastic recording in an online service of the United Reformed Church in the UK? We have the requisite licences and would, of course, credit you in the Order of Service. Many thanks, Andy Brauston.
John 14:6 - “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” Let's all pray, in Jesus' name, everybody in the world listen/hear/read the gospel. Glory be to the true living God. Amen.
