Damn hearing him shoutout all his old teammates and having flashes of all the great memories we all shared “to kes and juice” “luuu” and even May Ray. Hit me like a truck
Definitely one of the favourite canucks in history. At least mine for sure. So proud of you Burrows, the ceremony definitely gave me a few tears. Very classy and great guy, very hard fought career before he even made it to the NHL and he proved that he deserved to be there for a long time.
newschooler I agree with you, he made one mistake, everyone makes mistakes, tbh I met him a couple of times and he’s a nice guy, I’m sure he regrets that
Canucks would be champions if half the team had Burrows' heart and drive. Legit the saddest time of being a Canucks fan was when he was traded. Knowing he agreed to benefit the team is just a Burrows thing to do. Still would've preferred he retired as a Nuck. Thank you Burr
Canucks would be champions if he didn't bite Bergereon and change the momentum of that series. Thornton was put in the next game then the Canucks tried to out muscle a Bruins team built to outhit every team in a 7 game series. Hamhuis hurt himself trying to check Lucic because they started a style they couldn't finish. And Marchand was let loose, who is the best at instigating. It was the equivalent of the Dreymond Green nut shot that cost the team a championship.
@@stemike7956 I know this is late but I always felt it was the ridiculous Aaron Rome suspension and Hamhuis injury that cost them two of their top four d men. Throw in what I saw as a bias against the Canadian team especially on the American broadcasts and Luongo did well to get them to game seven. 94 hurt worse for me.
Burrows 'slaying' the dragon will be one of my fave moments as a Canucks fan for over 20 years. He deserved this honor for he was such a great player and defied the odds. So happy Burrows was given the chance and he seized that opportunity into a magnificent career.
Definitely one of my favourite players off all time! When I began watching hockey in 2011 Alex was part of the team I’ll never forget as it was from that run in 2011 in that I fell in love with hockey.
Isaac Donnelly I use to live next to his house in Montreal so I would see him everyday in the offseason, very nice guy, sometimes you would see kids playing ball hockey on the street and burrows would come and join them once in a while
As a Habs fan, Burrows was my favourite player. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet him and worked at his for a week in his home town. He showed a great example to never give up no matter how unlikely it was to reach your goal, congrats burrows and hope to see you again soon
Such a respectable human being and amazing player! And he never forgot his young friend who left us way too soon... RIP Luc Bourdon!! We all miss you and wish you were still around... You would have been a rock on the Canuck's blue line for many years😭
@Douglas Schultz How many cups have you won? none. What have you accomplished in your life? Nothing except making stupid comments on youtube and asking your mom for more meatloaf.
Looks like flower lol he’s a legend great memories Canuck forever burr! Thanks for all you’ve done (the Canucks hold great ceremonies) and the ring of honour is for those who’s jersey ain’t retired.
Saint Louis Blues fans here. Wife and I watched the TSN5 - Sens feed on the NHL app. We thought the open mic was a nice touch. We also got distracted by his "English". I said he was Francophone but from closer to Ottawa than Q-City. My wife insisted he was from that part of suburban Chicago I'm from where they talk like they just learned English last week. Le voyage de noces!
Hey Alex, great job body you are an insparation, I watched you play hockey since your were Junior major in Shawinigan, the old arena in Shawinigan was incridible with you. Bring back the stanley cup in Montreal now and teach those Montreal players to work hard has you did. Take care.
Douglas Schultz to me it doesn’t matter whether a team won a cup in the last decade. Rant about anything about the Canucks or Alex Burrows. The finger biter is old now lol just relax.
Alex Burrows might have been Aggressive on the ice but he was a great player & wish he would have played at least 1000 games. What a legend and I’d play as burrows in the NHL games and he got 10 hat tricks in 10 games
Got to see Burrows play with the Senators before he retired. Was concerned about the age at first but he showed up and performed every night. Congratulations Alex!
Everyone here not canucks fan shitting on Burr, in reality he was probabaly the most fiesty player we had on our team then, who played with his heart on his sleeve all the time. Anyone who fails to recognize the affect he’s had on Vancouver is naive otherwise.
Is there a particular reason why Canuck fans love this guy? He was pretty much thought to be a complete jerk and dirty player by both his teammates and opponents. Was all of this due to that big goal against Chicago? I could see that buying him a bit of good press. My only experience with Burrows at a game was versus Detroit in a shootout, when he cracked a stick over his knee to symbolize the end of the Wings streak. Some were offended by that but I thought it was pretty funny at the time!
All I've ever seen or heard from his team mates and anyone who actually knows him is that they love the guy. if other teams hate him, he's doing his job well.
Burrows made mistake after mistake , he just never learned from Anson Carter , you go on a line with the twins AND score goals , the Canucks trade you away . And keep dogs like Kesler
@Pedram Tavakoli you read it wrong , thats exactly my point . Carter scored with the Sedins and was traded, Burrows scored with the Sedins and was traded . Kesler was a dog with the Sedins and they kept him
