"Canuto, My Hero" is a Filipino song from World War II celebrating liberation of the Philippines from Japanese occupation. The song was recorded by a certain "Baby Jane" with Jerry Brandy & his Romancers.

"Kora!" - It's Satsuma dialect for "Hey you!" in a very rude / angry disposition. Most policemen during Meiji era came from Satsuma, hence adopted to Japanese slang.

Hopeful and sad at the same time. The Filipino people are free, but, Manila did not become what it was envisioned to be by D. H. Burnham.

@Tomoee It was during the 70’s that Manila started to get filthy, because of the surge of people from many provinces searching for a better life in the big city. These people are not clean in their habits, as they dumped all of their wastes and filth in bodies of water, resulting in severe pollution of the Pasig River and Manila Bay, that are once considered pristine by both the natives and colonizers. Infrastructure development deteriorated after the war, because the mayors and other government officials during this time lost focused in rehabilitating Manila.

@Tomoee Eww. American city planning is absolute dogshit. They may look good for foreigners that came from poorer countries, but its not actually good. Go to any suburbia or LA or NYC and you'll know what I mean. You can't go anywhere without a car. And a car centric nation is always terrible.
