I am an adult student returning to College after many years....you have restored the faith on my crazy idea to get back to College...I could not understand Canvas...you made it easier. THANK YOU!
Hello could you help me with all these canvas stuff I'm literally having a mental break down I cant and dont know how to do my assignment I need guidance
You are not alone. Trust me, I'm in my late 50's and I just started online classes in January after many years of raising my kids and working crazy hours. Now it's our time to work on ourselves. Best of luck MariaVictoria !!!!
Thanks for the great points to show students how to navigate Canvas in an easy to follow quick overview. I like to make one similar to this for my students and embed it ito the homepage.
Even though our classes haven't started, I checked out what are the Canvas features since it's what my school is using for online classes and it made me curious about why Canvas instead of Zoom. I understand now :D I'm excited to use Canvas but at the same time, I'm scared for my incoming classes lmao
Once again I took the opportunity to learn the tools that in this video will help navigate my online classes. It makes it much easier to navigate with tools like assignments, accounts dashboard, course, calendars , inbox and help.
I disagree. I've been taking online classes since high school and they are way better than traditional classes, imo. It really helps if you're disabled like me too.
@@socball6128 Yeah, I mean everyone's experience will be different. And I am very used to studying online. It helps that I am a very independent student.
I want to design content, design test and provide feedback and reinforcement and be text words and audio words and emoticon mobile tells the student that the answer is correct Is this here in this system?
Yes! Very well done and easy to share with our students. I started making something similar to this and embedded it in my homepage of each course. Really helped those that were new to canvas! Best wishes in your classes.
Yes. Your instructor has to publish the course first before you can see and access the course content. Some wait until the day course starts to do that. :)
While there is no window for this specifically, you can set your notifications to send you a notifications when a new file is added. Though, it's probably better to rely on your instructor to add the new file to an announcement or module so that it's visible to you at the appropriate time.
Um a question. If you can contact the people who made canvas it will be helpful to see which assignments you finished and not finished it will help me a bunch, since I have to constantly keep looking through assignments that I already finished. Saves a bunch of time! Thanks
Hello I am a student, and I have the canvas app on my phone and I keep receiving notifications when other students make submissions. Is there a way to turn those notifications off? Because my phone constantly keeps blowing up with notifications :/
You have some setting options for what kind of notifications you get from Canvas, this guide should help: community.canvaslms.com/t5/Student-Guide/How-do-I-set-my-Canvas-notification-preferences-as-a-student/ta-p/434#
Excuse How to determine the opening of the second unit after the student has passed the first unit exam, I want to lock the second unit in front of the student until achieving 75% in the first unit test, how is it?
Can anyone tell me if the iPad from 2020-2021 can access canvas (desktop version) on their safari without a problem. My iPad Air managed to do this from school years 2018-2020. And it has been my main computer since then. But recently, I heard that Safari is now a desktop class browser for the new iPads. Can someone share information with me?
This is my first time using canvas and on the dashboard it doesn’t say any of those things on the right and is almost plain it only has 3 things that says... [ 2nd period math class ] [ Science P4 ] [ LANG ARTS ]
I'm a parent with experience with a few other LMS programs, but NOT Canvas (of course). I wish I could say online education is easy. It definitely calls on a greater array of skills that begin with organization and self-discipline. It wouldn't be that hard for schools to ease some of the pressure, but many are overloading their teachers, too, who are often neither familiar with Canvas, nor online pedagogies. My advice? Ask a lot of questions, be patient with the answers and reassure your kids that we're all in this together and feeling the same way.
That will depend on how your instructor is choosing to record and organize their lectures. Some instructors use Panopto to record lectures, and will either have a "Panopto Recordings" tab available in the course's navbar, or will put the recording links into the Modules area. Some instructors upload their lectures to RU-vid, and share the lectures from there. Some instructors will just send the recording link from the Announcements tool, or just via email. If you aren't sure how your instructor is sharing their recordings you should check their course syllabus, Announcements, and content Modules, and contact the instructor directly if you're still not sure.
I think, yes. Many school are moving away from Blackboard to Canvas. I have yet to talk to one person that would prefer to go back to Bb instead. There are some few isolated features that people miss in Bb, such as auto-grading discussion boards, but overall people are happy. Hope you are too.

@@yungbatch44 Ok. Your school's website shows that it uses Blackboard. That can be confusing. I recommend emailing your teacher and letting them know your struggles with navigating the learning management system. Most teachers are very understanding right now. Ask for a Zoom call with them to show you how to be successful.
@@ccselearning ya I've asked em a couple times the most they can do is talk me threw it and I need someone to visually show me because I still don't get it and the school keeps calling I already missed a whole month of school 🤦♂️
It's not more. It's more self-directed. You don't have lectures and activities to take the place of reading and self-guided study. So, while it is absolutely more challenging, online education is not more work. It's just different work.
