This is great! I ran this ride for a few years at Opryland. Was a great ride. I sure see a whole lot of differences in the track since those days. Transfer track is missing. No catwalk around first turn. Pusher wheels are missing out of first drop. Brake 3 after high lift is missing. The brake run is a lot shorter. And fin brakes instead of the old skid brakes. We used to run 3 trains on the track on Saturdays and it was all manual. You had to bring the coasters in and line them up and stack them. You really had to pay attention when you were running 3. The phone boxes at E-stop and key starts are missing from the lifts. We used to have to climb the lifts in the morning and turn them on with a key and then do a block check with employees standing at the lifts and brakes in case the train didn't set up where it was supposed to. You could hold the brake buttons down and shoot it straight through the station. Was a lot of fun.
Mom and I loved this coaster. Lots of great memories riding it at Opryland in the 80's. She passed away at 47 in 2000. Good to see this is still making memories.
I remember I got stuck on it once at Opryland on the highest park right before the last corkscrew. We had to walk down the catwalk. It turns out there was a fire below the track. Somebody apparently threw a cigarette out from the skyride that passed above it.
And the Ghost Town Train, which was a cool looking train ride......and I never got to ride it. Me and family just stood there waiting for the Desperado Plunge and saw the two trains sitting in the station on the tracks, while I wondered if it was opened or not. Pretty cool coaster though, and still a fun park.
Nice. I worked Cannonball at Opryland, and can appreciate the hectic work of running multiple trains. This coaster failed at GE because they pretty much only ran one train. Excessive wait times, and in an age where people expect more thrill from a coaster. These Arrow coasters were kinda designed for families though. PLUS, if you're gonna tear down a bunch of existing attractions for a used coaster, you kindof expect that it be worth it. This poor old dog was not.
Went there a couple days ago, i’ve been on it before but i didn’t find it that fun, it didn’t give a lot of thrill but if you wanna try out a roller coaster for the first time this is a great pick
This was my first roller coaster and I ended up bashing my head on the bar and getting terrified at the circles after that I didn't ride a roller coaster till 2 years later 😭✋🏻
