** Update**
Just towed for the first time with these brakes. Towed a 6,000 lbs trailer plus gear for 6 hours last weekend and these brakes rip. They bit much harder and help bring down speed much better over stockers.
Highly recommend.
Upgrading the Canyon truck camper ahead of our three week road trip.
I decided to upgrade the brakes to Power Stop's Heavy truck and tow kit. While it was my first time doing brakes officially the process was extremely easy and it is a massive upgrade over stock.
For anybody who tows with these i would HIGHLY recommend investing in this kit once it comes time to replace. They bit way harder and the price was comparable to what a dealer parts department charges.

If any one takes the caliper apart like i did make sure the copper washer doesn't fall off brakes will leak i found out the hard way

Dude, you don’t ever work on a vehicle just setting on a jack, please use jack stands or wooden blocks to support the vehicle. Good way to get hurt, trapped under, or Killed when the jack moves and the vehicle falls off.

How do you like the rotors? What's the 6 month review on them ?

6 months in they are still great. Towed about 6,000 lbs about 1000 km over the last few months and they are a massive improvement. Not excess rust, no warping, great brakes and stop much harder. We’ll see how the winter treats them. The one main difference is when you really stomp on them and the pads heat up they hum ever so slightly. I assume that’s cause they are slotted. Overall fantastic upgrade in my opinion.

@@SDSGarage89 are Napa brakes and rotors any better? my toyota OEm brakes gave up on me 4 years with 35,000km. looking at aftermarket for better quality. winter salt ate mine

@@randomrazr I honestly don’t know. I had a Tacoma way back and the OEM Toyota rotors lasted a long time. Same with GM rotors. Curious to see how the power stoop rotors will hold up

never put neverseze on the wheel studs they will back off when tighten.

I was watching something saying the exact same thing discussing how a friction modifier on threads can modify torque spec, causing the stud to stretch and possibly break if you reef on it. You are right.

As a tec, I have always used anti seize. As long as you torque to spec, I've never seen or heard of a lug nut coming of. Though I've replaced many that were over tighten. The trick is to only use a bit on the threads. Not a bunch.

Sounds like you don’t know how to brake and give your self enough distance, especially when towing. 🤦🏻‍♂️ sounds like you live your life a quarter-mile at a time. Hahaha
