Another great video! Amazing scenery in the Four Corners region. There are a couple of great Ansel Adams images of Canyon de Chelly I'm sure your would recognize. Very interesting on the creation of the park, didn't realize the Navajo were part of the process but very glad to hear that. Visited the canyon 28 years ago with my wife on our honeymoon, had a great tour up the canyon on a old military 6x6 open top truck! I'm sure I can speak for us all in saying thank you to you and your wife for the spay and neuter clinics! Reducing pet overpopulation is a great service to us all.

In the photograph taken by Mr. Curtis in 1904, its those two enormous Egyptian looking faces soaring at least 200 feet above the 7 Navajo riders that fascinates.

I love Canyon de Chelly, it is so beautiful I wished I could of stayed there forever it is a beautiful canyon!

Awesome video. Took some photos of the area over two decades ago when consumer digital camera technology was just beginning to become common and affordable. Memorable images, but the 3.1mp couldn't compare to the quality of this video.

Beautifully scenic and historic place, Ghost Town Wonders, thanks for putting this video together for us to enjoy. Reminds a bit of Mesa Verde but without a hoard of PITA tourists. Neat that people actually live in the canyon; the greenness indicates the presence of water, and where there's water there's life. Well done.

Oh my goodness, Chinle & Canyon de Chelley!...I will just say I was very fortunate that a received a most highly personal tour way back in 1976 of down in the lower cliffs & valley portion of monument area of some of the inner most secret ritual areas & other special sites never shown to outsiders & still today no one gets to see I was told by my guide....not even the average Navajo. My guide was then a very important Tribal Leader Elder & I at that time I held a position with the govt of AZ..of which the Navajo Reservation.... I guess.... wanted to impress me & "be on my good side" because I had to be there for a few days in my job. I was taken to some truly almost magical sites & the shockingly beautiful ancient rock cave-- "Room of Great Light" it was called & was known to, I was told between the Navajo Tribal Elders themselves and not known of to almost non-Navajos. That was almost a holy site to only the most important of the Elders & was forbidden to view by the average Navajo nation kind. I found some of this out soon later. I was not told I was to be given a "Shaman Blessing" before & after I was taken to that cave by a diff & very aged Elder and was told to never explain what my eyes had just seen back then--now so close to 50 yrs ago from that day in 1976. Well, I still will not totally explain at what I saw there ( yet, I will speak of the effects ), so I have kept my word of that promise in the blessing spoken to me in that ancient native Navajo tongue I was told at that time...& that that "special blessing" was very ancient & was told not given to many & that made "me feel so wonderful & yet why me, too" and that Tribal Elder who gave me that tour said later he was very surprised it was given to me by that many year old Shaman who lived alone in his handbuilt "Hogan" his whole life it was said. I can say what I saw was so very Remarkable & a sense of 'AWE & WONDER'..almost like I was taken away somewhere instantaneously for a second & then back...so very diff that for approx a day or two after I felt a sense of what I can only call an "enlightenment" type of feeling. When a few days later I arrived back in Scottsdale--my home---even my then fiance told me she sensed something a little diff about me---she actually felt to her anyway I had a very, very slight glow to me, she said....that was really strange....& even yet today once in a great while.... when home...I am somewhat overcome by that same exact feeling. I am convinced from the moment I walked out of that "cave"...something came with me and is still with me. Something of good....I just know it somehow. Is it Protective of me?....I simply am not sure. I am so much older now and I will never forget that day. I sometimes wish I could go back to that very same spot one more time for some reason. Thank you for the terrific photos & allowing me to comment & share my experience about this remarkable part of our world.

Just some info correction. At around 15 minutes in the video, you talk about Massacre Cave and the Spanish being led by Antonio De Narbona. The cave, also referred to by the Navajo as "The Place Two Fell Off" is in Canyon Del Muerto and Narbona was not a Spanish military leader, he was one of the most revered Navajo leaders in the 1800's (he was killed by American troops around 1849 during a dispute over a stolen horse.) Also, he was not present at the massacre of the men, women and children at the cave, their number being estimated at more than 100. Their bones and the Spanish bullet fragments can still be seen on the cave floor.
