Our family vacationed on Cape Cod this summer and had such a wonderful time. We stayed in Chatham in a VRBO and in Part 4 we explored Gray's Beach in Yarmouth, walked the Bass Hole Boardwalk, and went to the Wellfleet drive in theater, such a fun nostalgic evening!

Paper straws were my final major motivator for buying myself some stainless steel straws and a case for my purse. I hate paper - you’re right, they just disintegrate! I also find my iced drinks taste SO good through the stainless steel; it stays perfectly cold. Yum!

i save plastic straws, wash them and keep in my glove compartment. i have ss straws at home. I love, love, love, your Cape Cod vacation. Being from the East Coast years ago, I can almost smell the salt water from here way out west.

Luke looked so adorable in his sun hat. That beach looked so fun. That boardwalk with the saying stuff on the boards were so cool. That's awesome that the girls liked watching the movie at the drive in theater. I haven't been to a drive in theater in years. Your breakfast all looked delicious. I'm glad that you were able to stop by that yard sale on the way home. I'm glad that you all had a great time on vacation. Great vlog as always. Thanks for sharing with us!

We just took a trip to Cape Cod today. We live in North NJ so it took us a little more than two hours to arrive. We did go to the most Southern part of Cape May and ventured in that area. We plan to come back and do dolphin watching g tours and visit some haunted sites. Most places were closed because of the Easter holiday, but we loved the downtime and the peacefulness of the area.

It is quite easy to carry a small pouch with your own cutlery ( including metal straws). I was in the USA recently and was shocked at the one use plastic waste you guys generate. You do so much for your kids, please put a little thought as to what kind of an environment you leave for them to enjoy and thrive in.

I live in the US and I agree with you the amount of pre packaged disposable stuff is ridiculous. I watch several youtube channels where they own both dishes and a dish washer and yet still eat the days meals on plastic/styrofoam etc plates. Just laziness. That being said I've watched Hillary for years and in general she is very careful with waste of all kinds, she is frugal and creative and I don't see her generating tons of trash. I don't eat at places with disposable stuff but if I did your idea of bring your own is a great idea !

Simple and sweet. The airplane you took to get to the USA creates more damage to the environment than one little straw. Remember that next time you want to get on your soapbox and judge.

@@jillmaroney6981 I think the point is not one straw but a lifetime of plastic straws as compared to reusable...if I were you I would think before I talk before lecturing someone who passes a comment in good spirits while helping the environment cause there was no hate or negativity in her comment

I live in South Australia and we have recently banned all plastic (plates, cutlery etc). We also use reusable bags shopping and recycle cans and bottles (you get $0.10 for each one)! I'm proud of our little State! But I agree, paper straws are the worse!

@@AprilShowers560 I'm not sure? But whoever it is, it's worth it! Huge incentive for people to not litter, keeping the state clean. For the bottles and cans that do get littered, these are soon picked up by lower income earners or kids looking for extra cash!

I got a little travel set of stainless steel straws from pampered chef, but Walmart sells a package of about 5 (they all come with a cleaning brush) for around $4. I don't care for the paper ones either or the wooden cutlery some places now have instead of plastic. Bringing our own is the least wasteful it just takes some time to get used to it. Naturally, with the whole Cape being centered around the ocean, anything that helps keep the sea in good shape we want to take part in. I grew up in Wellfleet! What did you guys think of the drive-in? My kids loved it at Evey and Lara's age but man, they are too cranky to all go now lol. I saw all of my first movies there! We love Greys beach because it's free!!! Some years I just don't feel like buying a beach sticker and we have a few secret beaches that don't require them....I'd say greys is the best one of all of them. I'm so glad you had fun here, can't wait til you all can come back!!

How fun we use to go to the drive in every weekend when I was 16. So sad they are gone they were so fun! For the future when you travel keep straws in the baby's stroller or anywhere. Looks like a beautiful beach and a great vacation! Lol yard sale right on 👏🏼👏🏼🙋🏻

Drive-Ins are the best! In Michigan, it doesn’t get dark until almost 10:00 in the summer so it is a late night but so much fun! Loved your vacation vlogs! Looks like a wonderful family vacation!

My daughter bought me a great one that includes its own fabric case and tiny brush. So easy to keep in my purse. She said there are also ones that retract and clip onto your keychain. So worth it to help the environment.

5:40 i just bring my one mug. i know it's clean and no waste. you know there are whole countries in which you never get a straw (unless you ask for it) and people are doing just fine.

DD should still have plastic straws. I still get them there. One solution is to buy plastic straws at the supermarket and keep a stash in the glove compartment. Luke is so so cute and cuddly!!

We've stayed in Eastham and Yarmouth and a few others. We try to stay in a different town each time we go. We've also been to Wellfleet drive in, its a good thing to set up an email just for email updates on places you've visited and want to return or new places you are visiting soon. I did that and also signed up for emails from the visitors centers, they give you lots of info on places to go and new places.

I feel a vacation like the you is basically for older people who are older or retired. Small children like water parks or the real beach to make sand castles and collect shells. The towns are pretty and interesting, but not for children so young.

I’m from MA and have been going to the cape since I was little...as soon as you showed that line of cars, I knew it was for the red cottage! If you ever make it back to the cape, definitely try going again. That line of cars is an accurate representation of how good it is!

Couldn't agree more. I knew it was The Red Cottage just before you said it. Definitely try it next time. We get there about 1/2 he before to be sure to get a spot. Tough to do that with little ones though. Thanks for sharing.

Depends on where you are. On the ocean side Craigville Beach is always warm ( and I don't like cold water ) and it has bathroom/ showers. Also has two spots for lunch directly across the street.

Great vacation!!! And a yard sale on way home, could it be any more perfect!!?? Hillary there's a Drive- In theatre in South Jersey (Vineland) I'm not sure how far that is for you but such a cool thing to do on a summer night. We grew up going to drive-ins, great memories. In fact I'm going to try to get there for A Star is Born. I'd love to hear what the girls had to say about the drive in 😃. Thanks for the great Cape Cod vlogs. It is good to be home.

We had the same issue on vacation a few weeks ago with paper straws!! My two oldest kids (6,4) were really struggling everywhere we went, especially the day we got smoothies lol! Cape Cod has been on my list for awhile and seeing your vlogs is making me think we need to go there next year!!! Beautiful.

I have never been to Cape Cod! Thanks for taking us along with you. I enjoyed it, I miss New England. We now live in Florida. Well I guess we camped ⛺️ somewhere in that area when we were kids (in 1970s) because I remember going to Provence town and eating salt water Taffy. I’m sure that has changed a lot since then 🥴🥴

Hi, Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your vacation. I live in MA and we've been going to the Cape w/my family their whole lives LOVE IT TOO NEVER GETS OLD. WE USED TO GO CAMPING (YES, CAMPING ACROSS THE STREET FROM WHERE YOU WENT TO THE DRIVE-IN @ MAURICE'S I used to give my kids a bath in a dishpan, and they slept in play pen in the tent when they were babies (Rain or Shine) great memories !!!! Our adult daughters still goto the cape now too, as a matter of fact my youngest daughter, son-in-law ,and our grandchildren are vacationing on Nantucket right now . My husband and I liked Martha's Vineyard too because (it was easier with little kids, because there they had constant running (trolley/like buses) that would take you to the different little towns and you could get off and on if you saw something you liked, and it was CHEAP !!!!!! BOTH ISLANDS HAVE THE SAME VIBE, LIKE HEAVEN ON EARTH, THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING !!!!!!

to help the environment and the straw situation, carrying stainless steel straws in the car or your purse if very helpful. Straws are one of the worse environmental issue. Maybe give stainless straws a try, they don't cost much and major benefit :)

Hillary I loved your vacation me and my husband we don't get to go nowhere anymore well we didn't go that much anyway but when we had the kids back little you know I raised my grandkids we did go to places like Dollywood and we go to bays mountain here close to the house but we never went on big vacations I've never really been on a vacation only to North Carolina one time with my sister and her husband and the reason I went I had to take my daughter to the hospital down there it was recommended we didn't have grandkids then we just had her but anyway I enjoyed the vacation with you all and I really enjoy seeing your husband we don't get to see him much in your videos very far and few between but let me tell you lady you got a good looking husband and he is so sweet how he helps you with your girls it is on believable they are too many men that even helps their wives with the kids but anyway with that being said sweetheart loved going on your vacation with you I really truly enjoyed it love you guys take care and God bless you see you in your next video

I so enjoyed joining you in your vacation. I appreciate you keeping it real with your comments on traveling with children. Everything, including your organizing for the trip and the clothing choices which looked so Cape Cod-ish, really made the trip so fun to watch.

Really enjoyed coming on vacation with you all - I live in the UK, but have been to Cape Cod a couple of times and loved it. I especially liked to see Nantucket again, as we left our rental car for a few days and took the ferry over, to stay in a lovely bed and breakfast there.
