These boats seem to be aimed at fishing, and no extra frills. The hull weight without engines of this boat is 5300lbs. So Two 250 v8 verados would be plenty, and id bet you would get pretty good fuel economy as well. I like the simplicity.
Wth?? Tournament edition yet only one potential fish box (and who know if it even gas a macerator.) Like these reviews but it would be great to heard starting price and price as shown. Also cruise speed and weight would be nice even in a short review.
A tournament series boat, not an XS series, with a damn seat on top of the leaning post live well? There should be a tackle and rigging station there. That "bucket" in the deck at the foot of the midship live well is useless. This appears to be the liner that is also used on the 34xs with the forward edges cut shorter because of the reduced flare/stretch in the shorter hull. Cape Horn make one hell of a hull and get sooo close, but always drop the damn ball before crossing the goal line.
@@timpannella9795 Hmmm, I don’t agree “Good Access” looks narrow and is far forward of the bilge.. No grab handle on bucket to lift out either. Looks poorly laid out, no rear fish boxes of any kind and only 1 box forward. Bad Design.. I like Cape Horn but this is ridiculous for something they’re calling a 31 Tournament.
@@spinfish1434 Definitely not the greatest access, and limited storage. But, if you like to travel light with only what you need per trip, the gunwale cap storage is and console is plenty of space, and the forward fish box will hold a lot of ice and fish. Also, the entire boat is foam filled so that box is insulated as all hell. These boats are built for their ride not for amenities!
@@timpannella9795 The bilge deck hatch with bucket should be 4 times that size and the gunnel boxes forward look really small, I doubt they would carry much more then dock lines. Traveling light? Who wants to be limited in a 31’ “T” boat of any brand especially for the price on this boat? I routinely go 30-90 miles offshore for large Tuna. I’m just calling it as I see it in this video. It’s poor design, no real storage, no stern storage (fishbox etc) the door leading into the console looks extremely small as well.
My two favorite boats are Cape Horn and contender for fishing. The Cape Horn is pressure foam filled and unsinkable. Contender is a lot more expensive. I think seeing it in person is better, but may not be for everyone.
