Not quite the usual stuff I post here but it was too pretty not to share. Desert areas can experience an event called a 'Super Bloom' when enough rain falls which awakens dormant seeds causing blankets of flowers to bloom all over hillsides as the plants come to life. This occurs once every 10 or 15 years though we seem to be getting lucky and are experiencing a second one in less than the usual time span.
If you plan on going to see any of these super blooms, please respect the park or trails you are visiting and stay on the path. In previous years irresponsible tourists trampled all over the flowers on the quest for the perfect shot, ruining the experience for those that came after them as well as preventing many from visiting these same areas again due to a city ban on visitors to the area (at least one city has imposed this with risk of real jail time for violating this rule).
