The generosity of that Namibian lady has really touched me. She be blessed. For that reason am subscribing to her channel and I think I'm gonna be her biggest fan😊
Namibia was the fifth province of South Africa when the movie 🎥 "God's must be crazy" was produced so either way you are correct. It was called South West Africa. They got independence from South Africa in 1990 and changed the province's name to Namibia. The other four provinces that constituted South Africa then were Transvaal, Orange Free State, Natal and Cape Province. These were also changed and rearranged into the nine provinces we currently have in South Africa 🇿🇦 when we got freedom from the previous regime in 1994 😊.
@user-se3cb9rw9k 1910 was just independence, Afrikaners can say they gained their freedom then, and we lost even the little bit of freedom we had left in 1910. 1994 is our year of Freedom
@@lebo5281 Then she should've said black people got freedom from apartheid in 1994.. But when we speaking about SA as a country it got its independence in 1910..
@user-se3cb9rw9k How do you form ANC in 1912 if you gained your freedom in 1910 and lose your land in 1913 over the Native Land Act? 1910 was the merger of the Dutch colonies with British colonies to form a union. Britain still presided over international matters concerning South Africa. The person stated correctly the distinction between independence and freedom, it was you who claimed freedom from the 1910 arrangement.
Well done Live and your team. I have followed the tour trip from when you were in Zambia to SA and now going back. I admire your sense of adventure, if more youths in Africa can do this, that will make us a different people. Travel well and God bless
Liv. A few facts about 🇳🇦 roads and fuel: 1. The money you paid at the border indeed goes to the Road Fund, it is used very well hence we are renowned for having the best road network in Africa. 2. We have a fuel fund as well, which subsidises fuel at the pump. Our prices are always lower than our neighbours'. Also, the fuel price is different from play to play because there is a formula used to determine cost from the port of Walvis Bay. Every litre of fuel you buy a portion goes to the fuel fund and another to the road fund.
Thanks again Liv Kenya 🇰🇪 for your 20th episode premiering. You have been educative, entertaining and optimistic throughout. Someday you shall be nominated tourism ambassador courtsey of professionalism and persistent exploration. Liv Kenya 🇰🇪 to Africa and the world 🌎
You guys have made a good name for Kenya and Kenyans in this travel . When I was in high school in Nairobi, we had Namibians school mates. I remember a guy called Tukojen. They went back to Namibia after Sam Nujoma became the Prime Minister of Namibia.
Very educative and entertaining. Everytime you release an episode, i have to literally stop everything. My friends and I are planning to do this soon. I noticed Patrick doesn't talk much though but a cool guy. He's a very good videographer. What camera are you using? I need to purchase one
big shouts to the generous Vapa.and the generous kenyan guy who stopped to invite you girls.the kenyan embassy on your way through the city made me laugh coz it reminded me of when i had travelled to doha then bumped on it.good job and nice travels im overwhelmed by your videos.
What an episode, thanks and ThatGirl Vapa, a Namibian gem. She is so kind, humble, knowledgable, honest, humble, and at the same time so so funny! Remember Namibia got it´s independence only a bit one generation, so they are catching up and since so darn rich (diamonds, gold, now oil, gas, lithium etc), is peaceful, small population - will eventually be more successful than many African countries! Namibia,SA, Lesotho, Botswana and Eswatini are so similar in everything, it is the distinct cultures that make them so unique and Liv Kenya is learning and passing it down in her unique way.
True, though´s not the only reason. As Liv explained NA and ZA border each other, share rivers, regions (Kalahari), ehnic groups (e.g.Khoisan, Ngunis) and so much more (like Eswatini, Lesotho, Botswana) and even South Mozambique or South Zim. Just like Habishas (Ethio,Eritrea,Djibiuti...) and so forh.
Namibia,we are here,,so happy for youuuuuuuu My friend's, you're so courageous especially in exploring the new places,I know one day I will be joining you.
South africa have 6 plants for manufacturing cars that's why their many Mercedes Benz 1. Mercedes Benz and VW plants in Eastern Cape 2. Toyota plant in Durban 3. BMW, Nissan and Ford plants in Pretoria
Am officially addicted to @liv Kenya... Windhoek haijaiva Sana hivyo. Hizo shamba kubwa wako nazo wanaweza uzia wakenya😂 population ya Nairobi imezidi, wengine tunaweza kuenda huko. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you.❤ Looking forward to the next one 😊😊
Very interesting road trip, following up u guys i have learned so much about African so far .... In this trip we are together till u get back home in Kenya. Safe journey Iiv Kenya and your crew.
Olivia, what a joy to meet a fellow kenyan away from home,If possible I wont hesitate to move to Namibia..the little introvert spirit in me loves such less populated spaces. To our host,I am coming to subscribe. You are such a vibe and funny,we love you ❤
I can now conclude that Africa is beautiful, its we've not got that time and resources to exhaust every corner, what have seen from the Nairobi to cape Town is that Africa is underrated
SA number plates identify as follows by province at very end of the registration no: GP- Gauteng Provice NW - North West FS- Free State KZN - Kwa-Zulu Natal MP- Mpumalanga NC - Nothern Cape EC - Eastern Cape L - Limpopo
@walkwithorr Correction : KZN and Western Cape use area codes at the start of the number ND, NPN, NX, NKR etc for KZN, CA, CAA etc for Western cape. They only use the provincial tags on personalised plates: ZN & WP
@tho88315 Ja, I remember when NRB ran out of numbers and they announced the ZN thingy, but it only started in Dec and hasn't been fully rolled out. The Ns are still valid.
Finally another episode been waiting for long. Thanks for the virtual tour iam traveling the world with you. Namibia is beautiful. "Vindok" not Windhoek 😅🤸
Thank you for your patience and for following this journey, Drew. Vinduk still tickles me to date😆😆. To think that all these years I have been pronouncing all the syllables in Windhoek is laughable.
Hi Liv team. I was dozing as I watched this episode until I heard a lot of excitement from Swahili speakers and how wonderful to see a host driving visitors around with ease. This episode ended in a lot of colour and style not seen on the journey to Cape town.
They made our stay in Windhoek beautiful. We were so lucky and blessed to meet very kind people throughout this trip. Thank you for following us from day one. Ep. 21 bado iko jikoni😅
hey guz, the pronunciation of there word is weird, waah umenirudisha mbali Gods must be crazy🤣 it was a bang'a al look for it niione tena. its weird kumbe ilifanywa Namibia me i know its Botswana, hio ni dry from what i have noted then again nimerealise pia hakuna traffic ya magari ni trailers nimeona tu , you guz are lucky the sand storm was not as bad kama ya Dubai weee ilikuwa mbaya kabisa , Gai 41 degrees we kuchemka nayo!. @thatgirlvapa thanks for hosting Liv Kenya God bless you, weee hio building ni ya kimataifa, ni mimi 🤔ama hapo museum kuna kaa kama Kileleshwa in a way ama naona zangu? . Namibia kunaka kuwa na raha hata kama in a way wako nyuma kiasi this episode was lite 😉 much luv guz
Hello, Websta. Imagine vile tulishinda tukipronounce every letter in Windhoek and each person was wondering what we were talking about😅😅😅. Vinduk😅😅. We learn every day. There was no traffic at all. I guess because there are few cars and their roads are great. Vapa was heaven sent. She made our stay in Namibia amazing. Kuna raha Namibia. You just need good money to explore it fully.
@@LIVKENYA the pronunciation was awkward to them 🤣🤣🤣 and yes from my end av learnt alot in this entire trip na pia naona its wise kuwa poa kimfuko for the trip to be a success naweza taka kuenda by road pia am believe for more knowledge in the next episode cant wait much luv to you guz great everyone ❤💯.
I love the way liv defends nature even if people have negative ideas about the places she will have positive feedback to that. Which is awesome being a nature person also.😊😊😊
@@hirokoherwamanyami3542 That's great,I hope one day I'll be in a position of visiting your country.I love your meat culture, hospitality and the great scenery. One love from Nairobi Kenya.
Yes we do have big land but our population is small, we dont know about traffic here, if you decide to go from point A to B you will reach in the time you suppose to without delay
Tswana from Botwana or Lesotho use the Portuguese inspired alphabet rule while Namibia apply the Dutch inspired Afrikaans language, next to English and their local languages respectively, therefore the pronounciation differences from English.
Most cars you saw in SA are from SA..Each Province has different plates..We can easily identify which car comes from which procince by the first letters and colours/designs
@@LIVKENYA If you remember well, In Gauteng , Pretoria and Joburg, the plate numbers were blue with “GP” at the beginning which stands for Gauteng Province. Just after crossing the Botswana Boarder most plates were NW, which is North west Province and they had a touch of green like the ones in Bloemfontein even though in Bloem they started with letter FS which is Free State Province! Western Cape /Cape Town has a variety from WP to “C “ followed by other letter and they are black and white!
Namibia was a German colony, in German the vowel 'w' is pronounced as 'v'.so yea all German words starting with W are actually pronounced as V. Volkwagen,,,etc
I'm following keenly on road infrastructure to learn a few things. Namibia is number 1 on the continent in terms of road infrastructure and I wanted to know why. 1. I have not seen a single mtaro anywhere by the roadside meaning all drains are covered under the pedestrian pavement. 2. The only roundabout I've seen is the one with the CBD church constructed in the middle. All other junctions have traffic lights. 3. Their road bumps (I've only seen them at that museum) have a flat top which they paint zebra crossings on top. This reduces damage to cars and discomfort to drivers as well as promoting safe road crossings for pedestrians. No bone shaking rumble strips. 4. Their road signage use green colour background for conventional directions and brown background to highlight places of interest like the museum and hotels. We have no such thing in Kenya. It would help alot in guiding visitors to know where to go and boost visitor numbers. Other points I've picked up, we don't have any similar museum in Kenya that showcases the mau mau rebellion and the years leading to independence in artistic form. Maybe the Kenyan art community can do something and start a mini museum like the one in Windhoek. Or we open a similar gallery at the new Uhuru Gardens museum with scenes from the independence movement.
Thank you so much guys so far I have been all along with you in this journey and you making it easy for me....I must visit ..Botswana,cape town but the first one it's Namibia...I now know w it's v and h is silent😂😂😂😂 my family thinks now I am a pro gal...mean while let me search vapa....let me also think of that porridge 😂😂
This is from Tanzania. I really like this Nairobi to Cape Town trip. I am waiting to see Episode 21 Cape Town to Nairobi via Namibia. Please keep East African hope alive.
LIVKENYA, thanks for the tour, once again. Remind me again why you were not teaching Kenyans Geography in seco? Your knowledge and passion for teaching iko juu. Many thanks to your host, I believe I've seen her with Damaris Njenga taking her around. How kind of her. I would live in Namibia. Thanks to the Kenyans you met in that video for their time and kindness. Now, Kenyans need to demand more for our taxes. Nairobi and other urban centres struggle with proper urban planning & zoning. Looking fwd to the next episode.
Over 100 degrees fahrenheit.. my gudnes Coast bado si hot.. Had to subscribe to her channel coz of her generocity to u guys. Kenyans pia naona tumeanza kuspread all over ka Nigerians bana.
Good evening , Liv Kenya. By the way south african number plats are structured based on each province. E.g when you in Pretoria they're GP and when you in Cape Town CA or CY.
She was suppose to take you to the single quarters open market to eat braai meat with kashumbali with pap same as nyama shoma, they cook it same time the custmer come you choose which meat you want
Another point of interest is that in South African military there are still descendants of Namibians who are former members of Koevoet or SWATF. Koevoet was the counterinsurgency branch of the South West African Police (SWAPOL). Its formations included white South African police officers, usually seconded from the South African Security Branch or Special Task Force, and black volunteers from Ovamboland.
