I hadn't originally planned to head to Cooktown via the Bloomfield track as it was supposedly 4WD only but decided to see how far I could get as the weather had been dry. Fortunately enough the track was fairly easy going and the river crossings low so did it quite easily. This ended up being one of the best legs of my trip and visited some stunningly beautiful places along the way like Emmagen Creek, Cowie Beach, the Bloomfield River, Wujal Wujal Falls and Archer's Point before hitting Cooktown.
I was also pleasantly surprised with Cooktown. So much history with the arrival of Captain Cook and the local aborigines as well as it's natural beauty. I then decided to head north and try the Battle Camp Track via the amazingly beautiful Elim Beach. Simply a breath-taking part of Australia.
Hope you enjoy!
