By a tree protector it cost 70 bucks and it doesn't cut the tree with the rope plus saves damage on everything.

Hi,I enjoyed this episode. something to keep in mind when winching ,use your wife to give you hand signals as to where your tyres are pointing otherwise (you will) eventually break something in the middle of nowhere….cheers keep ‘em coming….

Cheers mate! The theory behind my tyres I thought I was closer to that dead tree aha so I was trying to half stay away from it while being hooked to the only decent tree pulling me that way unfortunately 😂

And a tree protector on the tree, never hook back onto your main line.

never use a P formation on the rope around a tree, it crushes the bark and kills the tree. It is also only 80% of the line strength, so use a tree protector, and get 100% of the winch line pull rating AND keep the tree alive. Get some recovery training and some better gear. also lower tyre pressures a lot, that gives more flotation as longer tread pattern on the ground = lower psi from the vehicle. learn how to recover properly, the only thing you really did that was ok was take the hitch out, but that was not really necessary as you were towing something on wheels with virtually no rolling resistance. Still should not loop the strop around anything or pit the pin through the end of the strop unless you have no other way of doing it. It's all about planing. you've proved you really need to work on that part.
