Oh what a lucky man you are! Great lyrics, musicianship, guitars, drums and vocal. A very nice EQ! For guitars, perfect. My 71 y.o. ears want more high freq.

I use the Capi Heider FD312 H2 mic/line pre-amps. I was fortunate to want these when Colt had is signature black out version release and bagged two of them. I love them for tracking and love them on the mix bus and other places. once you have these you will wonder why you never had them to start with. They add a real nice color with those transformers. They are very high quality.

The LC 25 and LC40 are on the ever growing list of items, Im an ex electronics engineer so i'm a dab hand with a soldering iron and will greatly enjoy building a kit. Only issue is the UK import taxation is ridiculous! But if i get one i'll let you know

What else is cool when you get either the Capi LC25 or LC40 they come with different op-amp combinations. I love choices.

By the way Dave, yesterday I saw a video from Joel Wanasek who’s mixing on an Origin for a year now. He mentioned that he loves the low-end of the Origen. Funny how taste differs right 😊 I have to say Joel mixes mostly heavy genres maybe that’s the difference in opinion.

Lori is really good. A little bit of Reba Macintire in her tone. Maybe a little smoother. Anyway, the EQs sound good too. What I'm curious about is in my small studio would this be a better choice over a parametric EQ where I have very limited space (I would have one 500 rack max with 8 or 10 slots, four of which would be compressors and maybe two would be mic pre-amps).

If you are limited on space for hardware, I would not bother with hardware eQ's. The compressors make more of a difference compared to plugins.

Do you think that both UAD 2a and 1176 guitar pedals can be kinda " poor man " substitution from the real thing when using them as insert outboard gears?

Guitar pedals are used all the time by mixers. They can work really well

Dave, In the video you said you got a pair of Capi LC25's for $600? That is $300 a piece. If that is true you got a steal of a deal.

I believe eI paid around $300-$400 each used on Reverb
