Lovely to see this. So evocative. I'm 72 and remember going into Welly on the train with my mum regularly, when I was still in a pushchair.. What a lovely city, how blessed are we to live in this land.
That was fantastic.. never have I paused or scrolled back on a video so much ever until now.. and that was before I’d got to the end.. I used to work for Mutual Life Citizens or MLC back in the late 70’s or early 80’s and so great to see many of these buildings still standing today.. seems to be the more modern ones sometimes that don’t stand up to the earthquakes ironically. Getting rid of the general post office 0:36 was an absolute crime. I'm sorry but the voting age population during the 1970's and 80's were the worst thing that's ever happened to NZ.
Corruption in government took hold during the 70's and 80's yes. But voting one way or the other could never stem the rot...from present day...what we've got! 🤷♂️
