Congratulations! Glad to see you got approved the 2nd time around. Gives people hope if they get denied the first time that they can still try again later.
Congrats on the new card Matt!! 🎉🎉 Super pumped for you to get this since you weren’t so lucky last time. Now you’re in, and can use those C1 lounges in your future travels!!
Thanks so much Stan! Yeah I'm pumped to have exposure to C1 Lounges- I'll likely organically be able to visit the D.C Lounge first either for a trip there or on a layover!
Let's go Matt! Great to hear that the community's tips helped in turning your fortunes around. Look forward to hearing about your experiences with the card.
Absolutely! Yeah the Community here on YT is amazing and awesome that they were able to help with this reversal! I'm pumped to share more about my experiences with the Card. Thanks for watching Monty!
Congrats on getting approved for the Venture X card, Matt! Capital One can definitely be goofy with approvals, especially with people who are applying for cards at higher velocities. The Venture X card is one of the premium travel cards that I am considering getting. It's between the Venture X and the US Bank Altitude Reserve for me. Both cards are unique and are nice alternatives to the Sapphire Reserve or the Amex Platinum.
Thank you John! Yeah Capital One absolutely is weird sometimes about who they do approve and who they don't approve. Nice, both the USBAR & Venture X would be great options & great alternatives to some of those higher Fee Cards like you said. Appreciate your support as always!
🎉congrats Matt!!!! Its a great card. Me and p2 each have one, great catch all card with fairly easy credit to use if you travel. The cap1 lounge at DFW is really top notch! Thanks for sharing!!!
Absolutely! I'm pumped to try out one of the Cap 1 Lounge sometime soon, and have a couple different ways I can utilize the Travel Credit, because like you said it's pretty seamless to put into action! Thanks so much for watching!
Gratz! See you in the C1 Lounges! This can be a lounge keeper card, a catch-all card, a transfer card for Savor rewards, and/or a primary travel card. It's easily the most versatile and easy-to-get return on an annual fee premium travel card.
Thanks so much Chad! Yes the Venture X has a ton of use cases and is super versatile like you said, so really excited to put it to work. See you in the lounges!
Nice!! Love your approach & the Cap One Duo is one of the most simple & straightforward CC Setups out there still with significant upside. Thanks for watching Chris!
Very nice Matt!! Didn’t know that having it set to “doesn’t leave a balance” can actually stifle the application. That’s interesting. Good stuff man!! I know you’ve been trying to get this for some time so I’m happy you got it now, $20k noiceeee!
Congrats on the approval and $20k limit. It seems that $20k is the most common limit with this card. I’m excited to experience Hertz President Circle soon thanks to my Venture X. Gotta enjoy it before it goes away.
Well done. I’m still on the fence about it for me personally. It has the minimal amount of behaviour change to make it profitable but its earnings are still a bit jammed. Hope it works for you.
Hi Matt, Your presentations are to the point and very informative. I do think that when vloggers like yourself who specialize in credit card points of view use the terms "should get or shouldn't get" as clickbait it puts you in the position to have to explain yourselves when subsequent videos seem to contradict prior video content. I think it would be better to stick with "advantages and disadvantages" terminology which then allows for updates without seeming to dramatize content just to attract attention.
Congrats on the new card Matt! For this application did you do any extra verification? How to send identity documents? Or receive an OTP code on your cell phone? Any verification steps you did that you didn't show in the video?
Congratulations man ! I've been waiting for this video ! Cant wait to apply for my venture X soon. Did you freeze any of your reports ? and also do you own 4 or more Cap1 cards ? I currently own 4.
Hey Jeohvany! I actually did not freeze any of my Credit Reports- that's probably a good idea and I should definitely do that next time. I actually do not, the Venture X is my first Capital One Card personally, but my wife has the Savor One. Appreciate your support!
@@MattWelterOfficial hmmm interesting! That could be why she got denied for the VX because she only had 1 open account with them, I could be wrong ! I’ll test my luck soon, very soon lol. Capital one was the first company to give me chance so it would be nice to get the VX, I just got the Savor one last month 😁.
In the preapproval when they ask if you have checking and savings, are they asking if you have C1 checking and savings specifically, or just in general with other banks?
When you say two hard inquiries, do you mean two across all bureaus or two inquiries that might show the same one on multiple bureaus? Like if capital one hits you with one inquiry on all 3 bureaus and you apply for another card do they count that as 1 or as 3?
Great question! When I say two hard inquiries I meant two that could show up on multiple bureaus. I’d personally count the capital one inquiry as 1. However I know some people look at that differently. Thanks for watching!
Yes I was under 5/24. Make sure you check out your Credit Profile and that you've had less than 5 Personal Card Applications in the last 24 months and then give it another try. Thanks so much for watching!
