Capital Sound was a Canadian Eurodance group from Ottawa, Ontario - the capital of Canada and the genesis of their name. The main members of the group, who were displayed only by unique names within the group, were vocalists Nathalie (Page) and Katt (Céline Guindon) and keyboardists Baby / Bit Burn (Martin Brunet) and Morgan. Paolo Iovannone, credited as "Rocko T. Bello", was also a frequent songwriting collaborator and was featured as a featured artist on some of the group's singles, but was not an official member of the group. Their debut album, Sussex Drive, was produced by Michel Picard and released in 1994. The band won the Juno Award for Best Dance Recording for the single "Higher Love (Club Mix)" at the 1995 Juno Awards. Another single , "In the Night (Club Mix)", was nominated alongside him in the same category. Additional prizes include the Cheer DJ Pool Award in the Best Canadian Dance / Club Artist category in 1995 and Best New Dance Group from the Quebec Record Pool in 1994.
The first time I heard "higher love" and discovered "Capital Sound" was through a CD I bought in 1994. Since then it has been one of my favorite sounds of the 90s
Canadians were really good at making Eurodance music infact if i remember correctly Canadians loved Electronic music. Why DID WE STOP this? or at least if we didn't its not mainstream lol.

You'd look very 80s too if you were filmed for about a buck fifty! :-) Ottawa labels had NO money at the time. All this music was made on non-existent budgets in a studio that I worked at, mixed at the same place acts like One 2 One, Alanis, Eight Seconds, etc. were also at around the time. It was very family, it was love, but it was CHEAP. Despite that, great art came out of that joint. Just very unfortunate that there were some absolutely crummy (read shady and gross) people who destroyed it.
Capital sound!! I remember when this came out I would drive with this blasting for days...good times fuck that was 20 years ago! Man I'm getting old :((
