+Purple Nimbus dude, theres more to that he litterally explains his family in one line (From an unstable family of alkali metals) (4) Alkali metals have (7) different compounds, and theyre always trying to Bond with other Metals (people) but cant because of how unstable the metal is.
+Tutoring theres so much more to it than that dude. he explains his whole family in the line after it, even the "Rose from the bush like valentines pedals" has alot of significance, hes saying he (rose) and blossomed like a flower from Flat(Bush) (where there from is flatbush NY) search up 47 ELEMENTS on google and get the lyric genius to decipher it all. amazing.
As an environmental Science major, I appreciate all of STEEZ’ references to chemistry (instability of alkaline metals) as well as physics! (Light refraction as it passes through a glass plane) #longlivesteelo
I always thought the opening bar would’ve been perfect if steez said “I (Cu) see you shining...” instead of “I heard you shining...”. This is because Au(Gold) and Cu(Copper) are right below and above Ag(Silver) which is the 47th element, the name of the song basically. If he had done this that bar would be perfect
Im a Huge fan of the Egyptian Culture and this struck me instantly "AU I heard you shining but I Got that GOLD MEMBERSHIP" its significance and usage in ancient Egypt revolved around spirituality. Ancient Egyptians considered gold “the skin of the gods” -- specifically the sun god Ra -- and often used it to craft objects of spiritual significance.Ancient Egyptians associated the metal with eternity, which made it popular for use in funerary objects, such as gilded coffins or vessels and jewelry entombed with the dead. These ornaments also served to indicate the social status of the departed. Thought id share that with my 47 family, something to think about. Knowledge is power but wisdom is even stronger and thats the key to our evolution..Lets get to stepping.
jose duran Personally I dont think steez was getting THAT deep with this verse but I like the fact that you can pull your own meaning out of the message he's trying to send, you're a thinker and not many people are like you
So lyrically good. It’s hard to find rappers these days rap and rhyme about real issues and things with context. Times are shifting for the worse but we won’t forget the roots of some of the greats. Dude was a genius. No wonder he died young. They always do 😔
Rose from the BUSH (Flatbush) like Valentine Pedals, from an unstable family of Akaline Metals... Lol there so much grounded wordplay that flies over ppl heads, EVEN when starting at the first line, Let me introduce u to the elements Aye (AU), I heard you shining but I got that gold membership...smh
He is fucking amazing. Hearing that acapella was wild and knowing it's a track he wanted to create is legendary. RIP to the KING. Been gone far too long 🙏🏼
This whole verse is crazy, the way he connects everything, starts with GOLD, then says how palestines rebels dont handle rocks, alkaline metals, then says about aint shit magic or witchcraft, which is referencing alchemy where they focus on GOLD and ROCKS, this shit is insane
"I skip class and barely just pass" fuck man I miss steez. I'm blanking in the song title but that track along with all of his are dope I can listen to his tapes all the way through like nothing.
The asian part made me laugh loud lmfao Capital steez really went over the crowds head😂 (Asian people please dont take it serious I think yall great, just made me laugh tho)
