Ah, I think I’d knit that yarn into a Basile Sweater by Knits Pour Moi. It’s so beautiful. I do get what you mean about a deep and abiding connection to fibre arts. I remember my mother’s hands when I look at my own hands knitting and I feel a sense of all the people before her who passed on the craft. It feels kind of ancestral doesn’t it? I am in love with the homely quietude of it all.

That pattern is gorgeous! I immediately added it to my favorites. This is such an interesting thing because I too can see my mother's hands knitting when I knit, though I don't think I've ever really said that to anyone. It's nice to know its a shared experience. Fiber arts/craft feels incredibly ancestral to me. I think thats a big part of why I am so drawn to it. It feels connective in a way that I don't get with anything else. Thank you for sharing. I love animals too! So much! She's becoming less special needs as time goes on and it makes me so happy and amazed. I really hope someday she can live a semi normal goat life. I was happy RU-vid decided to plunk your Video 5 into my feed a while back. I have watched your other episodes since. I am a lover of traditional fair isle colour work knitting as well as some of the Nordic colour work and knit all the time. I also love sewing, but it has taken a more utilitarian place in my crafting life since I discovered colour work. I have had the PomPom Issue 39 Pink Noise sweater as well as both pairs of colour work mittens in my favourites for a while now. I would definitely use the Garthenor yarn in my colour work projects. Loved hearing about the goats and that you didn’t have much experience when you first got them. I live in rural MN and we just got four sheep (a Shetland ewe, two Jacob ewes and one Jacob wether) and I’m a town girl who has only had dogs and cats for animals (and four human children animals), so I’m glad to hear there are other farm animal novices out there :) I really enjoy your videos of prepping fiber; I’m so excited to have fleece from my own sheep. Congrats on 1K!

Congratulations on your new sheep family! I truly believe anyone can learn to take care of livestock. The only thing I recommend is building a good relationship with your local large animal vet. I learn so much every time they come out and their advice is indispensable. I'm very happy you enjoyed the fiber prep video. I'm hoping to make a spinning video next in that series. Hi Anne, let me tell you that you're so sweet and cute answering the questions😅 thanks for letting us get a peek into your life❤ my mom bought me my first knitting needles when I was 8, and to this day I still remember that birthday 😂 So, a giveaway!🎉 I want in 😊 Those skeins are to die for, such a lovely colour, and I'd love to have them so I can knit a pair of socks for my mom, they match her eye colour, that way I can thank her on her upcoming birthday for all that she knitted for me when I was small. She's wonderfull and can knit many, many things but stocks are something she was not good at, so it will be our little joke when she sees them 😅 Have a lovely week and take care ❤

I'm so happy you enjoyed seeing them! I sometimes brush Brighid or Wayne and Garth in the spring to get a little bit of Cashmere, but nothing serious. Since they're technically dairy goats they only produce a small amount. But it sure is soft. Thats very sweet. Good luck!

Hi! I love your channel and I hope to learn how to spin wool one day. Purple is my favourite colour and I absolutely love Pom Pom magazine. I would want to make every pattern that is in issue 39. Congratulations on meeting 1000 subscribers! Where in WI did you visit? I’ve lived in WI most of my life. Growing up we raised goats. I loved it and hated it😅 we had 10 milkers and when my dad worked out of town it was my job to milk them before school. I didn’t like smelling like the goats all day at school 😂.

Thank you!! I went to Whitewater and was only there for a few days so I didn't see much but it seemed very nice. I can totally imagine hating that! School is so stressful anyway and other kids can always find a way to be mean. No to mention the waking up extra early. Thanks for sharing your story!

I don't want to enter (shipping to the UK costs a fortune), but that yarn is stunning! I was forced to drop out of school at 15, and while I do think education is very important, it always amazes me what we can achieve without it. Hold your head high and keep doing your thing.

It's incredibly soft too! I agree that education is very important but resiliency can take you just as far sometimes. This is a very sweet comment. It's easy to feel inadequate sometimes in our society with less formal education. But we all have value and things to add.

I'm so happy you're liking my content. It would make such a soft shawl! And thank you! I drew and designed my logo! The goats are based off photos I took of Brighid when she was younger. I definitely learned from my mom though, I was playing and designing things/logos in Photoshop and Quark from the time I was a young teenager. I meant to talk about that and my channel name in this video but I forgot to so thanks for asking.

At this point our goats are pretty much just pets. We milked Isabella for around 3 years/seasons total and after that we felt that it would be good to have a break/we didn't want more babies. We do miss the milk. I'm hoping to add fiber goats to the heard in the next few years.

I enjoy your channel let’s show more about your other hobbies most knitters also do other fibre craft nature of the game. The yarn looks beautiful and it is well traveled if got it would be even more traveled Australia 🇦🇺 Pom Pom I love but the price here is now just too high over $20 make it your $40 a copy just can’t justify that . I used to own goats many years ago milked her a beautiful British alpine called Felina she had twins does but then our area got too built up and we were no longer allowed them. At the same time we also had a sheep and four small children busy days then .now it is just my husband and I the children have all grown two have children of their own. Don’t feel you have to talk about yourself especially if you feel uncomfortable doing so. You started the channel to talk about your fibre crafts stick to that. Some people feel they have the right to know all about you,they don’t.
