i think because "Winter Soldier" is such a strong, standout sequel, it really kind of eclipses the heart and wonderful character moments of "Captain America". say what you will about "Captain America" being bland or lacking in grandiosity, but it's anything BUT a cookie-cutter MCU origin film. Steve Rogers wills himself into heroism. by the final frame of "Winter Soldier", Rogers is the MCU's most formidable, relatable, courageous and compassionate hero. not hardly so with "Iron Man 2" or "Thor: The Dark World". when Steve Rogers goes, somebody's gonna have some big goddamned shoes to fill -- the shoes of a good man chosen for greatness. and who never once turned away from that calling. gray video, guys! thanks for the memories.

Chris Evans did a fantastic job with the excellent material he was given to work with as well. Can't really envision anyone else as Cap.

@@ryanhorgan9976 His contracts were up, and he had already said he was not interested in doing more. Chris felt like the story had been told. I mean - most everyone following Marvel knew he would die or retire at the end of the Saga, which we found out was Endgame.

That's actually not true at all. Winter Soldier was (rightfully) praised for it's story and portrayal of Cap. It's considered to be one of the MCU's best. Civil War wasn't as praised or acclaimed though, so idk where you got the assumption that Cap wasn't praised until his third movie.

Steve and Buck are both probably the most beautifully written characters. Especially because Bucky is so complex, he has so much inside his head, and he wants to fix that. But he can't. Steve, however, wants to do everything that's right. But he.. Broke when he saw Bucky in Winter Soldier. He has PTSD, which is beautifully written.. But he's also split between two worlds. When he lost Peggy, Steve lost what was left of the past- besides Bucky, that is. But, when Bucky went back into cryo.. He lost that too.

Luke Moran the two were great. But I’ve still seen too many other epic trilogies.

And in Endgame we see how, from a certain point of view, Baltroc, Tony, and Bucky are all correct: Steve is more than a shield, won't run from a fight and is not worthy of just a shield, but something much more.

even then bucky had to save him from iron man by grabbing the leg, which I thought was pretty cool. at the end of the day he's just a kid from brooklyn with a big heart

I think 3 movies were enough and Civil War was a great finale to the Trilogy.

I agree, besides Steve is no more Cap, so the 4th movie would be pretty forced tbh. However they should continue developing Steve's character and the dynamics between him and Bucky, make Bucky!Cap happen and then make a buddy movie with these two (plus Falcon, of course). This kind of role swapping would be so much fun to watch and it'd somehow guarantee that Stevie will be still appearing on the screen, cause the new trilogy would be his place in the MCU. Idk, I just don't want to lose him after Infinity War :'((

Spidey joined Captain America in the comics, after leaving Iron-man's side. He knew Cap was right during the Civil War.

@@samirabousalama1991 True. Our MCU Spidey is just young, and innocently commits mistakes - and Tony was the first guy to talk to him about joining his side. He even made him a new suit. The comics Spider-man is a grown-up. He understands the worth of superheroes. After the Superhuman Registration Act (the comics counterpart of the Sokovia Accords), every hero is required to reveal his identity. Spidey has to do it, after a long discussion with his family, and under Tony's pressure, which leaves his family- Aunt May, and wife Mary Jane Watson, vulnerable to being targeted by his enemies. Soon, after he does that, he begins thinking what went wrong- understands why Cap began to rebel. He finally understands the true culture and honor of a superhero, and thus, he knocks out Iron-man in his own headquarters, is hunted down by special ops (recruited by SHIELD against Captain America and his team), nearly killed by some supervillains (recruited by Tony and SHIELD to fight Cap), and for sure, he's saved by The Punisher. Cap immediately brings him in, and actually cares for him like his own kid. He shouts to his fellow inmates for helping Spidey (who's unconscious at that moment). Finally, after all that, Spidey says he's glad he finally checked in, picked the right side. Also, not to forget that most of the heroes were leaving Team Iron-man already because they started to finally know the truth, for which Tony had SHIELD take the help of supervillains and criminals to fight against Cap. US agent would be a good story because he was never a good man. If anything he goes too far. Not Punisher level but also not Cap level of justice. His story is a story of redemption.
