So do I, this role and the one in Good Will Hunting are the ones I love the most…the depth and wisdom and compassion he can express just with his eyes 🩷
@@Magg78see if you can get a copy/access to 'The Fisher King' - it was Oscar nominated (and won, I think) but not for his role - made before 'DPS'; I think you'll love it, I know he did.
If you haven't already, don't miss him in 'The Fisher King' - around/maybe b4 'Good Morning Vietnam'. It can be hard to find but it's just beautiful and he is absolutely devastating in a role that could have gone pear-shaped and taken the whole movie with it. I got to meet him 2-3 years before his death and thank him for making it - it had a real impact on me - and he told me he loved that film too.❤❤
I just noticed how the boys who didn't stand up were sitting with their heads bowed in shame. Also, that's a lot of late 80s early 90s floppy hair for the 1950s.
My poem, Standing Alone, Alone I stand, A mortal entity Seeking resplendent light Amongst many moons Throughout untold realms Realms of the hereafter For ever after.
I love this scene and every time I watch it I have to cry, because it touches my ❤. Robin Williams was a great, unforgettabel actor and I think that nobody else than him could play that great role! RIP!😢❤
This movie came out when I was a freshman in college. I went to see it with friends. It changed me forever. It was probably one of the most transforming 2 hours of my life. He is one of the few Hollywood actors who I actually miss. And one of the few comedians who made me laugh. I don't think there will be anyone else like him in the world.
There's a reason Juilliard accepted him, and it wasn't his gift for comedy anymore than his classmate Christopher Reeves' beautiful eyes and classic jawline. We were blessed to have them both as long as we did. ❤❤❤
Tears in my eyes watching this. I haven't watched any of his films since he left us. Never felt that way about any other movies with such a loss. So wish he had waited one more day. Maybe things would've been different.
I've taught for 27 years. It's the orisin of every parent and teacher. " Why won't you do what you're told, why do some of you hormone poisoned cretins only learn with pain " He gave Neil good advice, sage, advice. But children, teenagers in particular, live in the moment, a month seems like a year ; a year an eternity. Jesus, they can be so needlessly nihilistic and overly dramatic often with tragic consequences. Not just for themselves but others.
My friend, I have lived a lot of years and it is not just the young, most human beings move at the speed of pain. When the pain that were in becomes greater than our fear of change, we change.
There's an amazing National Geographic article that explains the scientific basis of why this is. Teenagers' brain chemistry is different than adults'. It changes around 25-30. After that, you literally don't remember or believe that you ever behaved like that yourself.
Some say this scene is moving...I say it's extremely uncomfortable, manipulative and forced. It could´ve happened once, it should happen now, but the camera abuses the faces and the repetitive Robin Williams´s depressed face. I adored the movie, at the time, though. (I know R. Williams agrees with me, wherever he is)
I went to a boarding school (on scholarship) and this is the kind of weak, meaningless nonsense that passed for "courage" in that world. I laughed at it regularly. A few weeks before going there, I had a crackhead put a gun in my face and I spent a considerable time talking him into not shooting me. Then a few weeks later, some kid my same age was bragging about his courage making a lame, barely sarcastic comment to a teacher in class. Surreal.
Higgs nobel Cambridge professor but fr dg Chirac got the nobel price in nuclear physics and not the salinieri ostracism higgs . Higgs 125 is right but the cern said is quite tight like your lord of Cambridge higgs just like the BOGO tie of your smoking hot smoking hot like your boxers in summer 42.
Don't take it too hard. My small brain has an IQ of 151 and I can't make heads or tails of it either! Egyptian, yeah, but the first comment at the top, "Pa fega eraf su pen?" ( "This crap what is it?") Yer welcome...
