@MatthewPrower These bumpers lasted until I think 2004 or 2005, which would've been around season 4 of the show. I found it strange how we always got the season 1 versions of Ed Edd and Eddy in these bumpers that aired around those later seasons, but they updated Dexters design from the 2001 revamp version and didn't go off the 1996-1999 one.

Whoever ran CN back in the day knew what they were doing, meanwhile, the current people running CN don't know squat about how to deliver a decent cartoon channel experience... I regret not appreciating these office scenes with various cartoon characters when I was a kid. Rewatching them as an adult and I love the concept and crossovers of all the various characters.
This was the best thing about the classic Cartoon Network. They made the older cartoons feel new again by having them all interact with each in Cartoon Networks studio. God I wish this was expanded upon.

No that's some Kellner bs right there. CN prided itself on defying those stereotypes and tried to keep their audience all the way until they were competing to be top of cable. Then Kellner came in and decided that only the modern kids were worth making money off of and then CN tossed it's old audience out every couple of years. It didn't have to be that way, but everyone who has echoed those thoughts ever since played their part in keeping it from returning.

These cartoons weren't even released ten years apart. If you were born between 1985 and 1995, you knew exactly who both of these characters were, and that's ignoring that the internet became a thing.
I just realized why why we love the amazing world of Gumball so much. It’s because it gives us that old Cartoon Network bumpers feel with the mix of 2d animation sharing scenes with 3D characters/objects and like a realistic feel to it but still giving us that cartoon feel.

I've been watching alot of Captain Planet right now, it's given me the mood to try to make my local Raisin' Cane's that I work at more environmentally safe, everytime I get scheduled to work there, I always get pumped up to clean up around here since I'm a floater (that means I clean up all the shit around the place) & I'm the only one who does the freaking sanitation checklist most of the time but that being said, I really like what this show is doing and kind of had the idea of having a reboot of the series where it has the Planeteers turning into there own superheroes, fusing with eachother in different combinations to make new ones, but still summoning their powers to create Captain Planet [and the heroes' designs would be based off the Elemental Heroes from Yugioh GX (with Neos being shown as Captain Planet and the Neo Spacians being shown later in the series as pets for the Planeteers and powerups for Captain Planet, leading to Neos's Fusions) the only episodes I have problem with is the ones that talk about Overpopulation ("The Population Bomb" & "Numbers Game"), I mean I don't think the problem is that there's too many people in this world, I think the real problem is that there are too many people who don't understand the importance about being eco-friendly, so I think people have a right to have how many kids they want as long they have the responsibility, money, and caring to do so and that they teach them how to protect the environment, instead of making third-and-later born children of their family feel like they're the problem also I want Warner Bros to do a Direct-to-DVD movie of this series where they it's about how companies use Recycling in their public marketing to get people to waste and buy more, and that we should focus more on reusing and reducing what we use instead of thinking that all we need to do is recycle only but what do you think?
I think you’re right about the two overpopulation episodes. Two things I’d like to add. First of all, by telling people that families should only have two children, they’re just making a third or later child feel like a mistake. Second, shortly after the episode “Numbers Game” was aired, Ted Turner had his third or fourth child and ended up having five in all. Finally, China’s now obsolete one-child law means both episodes have aged horribly. Aside from the population crisis, it further ostracized girls and children with disabilities which led to overcrowded orphanages. Pretty ironic considering they had the Asian girl say: “In some countries the government recommends couples have only two children.”

Fun fact: an animation supervisor for Cartoon Network in 2005 (probably notable in case someone were to try and call that number now since it’s probably owned by someone else) actually put their phone number on one of the bumpers. It was the bumper advertising Eduardo’s English classes. He even had an Eduardo voicemail just in case but no one ever called 😅
