The original Captain Power actor should play a Commander or General in the remake. He should make a few guest appearances and tell the new Captain Power what to do.

why do people always come out with comments like "a remake of this will rape my childhood" instead of saying that they don't think a remake will work.sometimes remakes work and sometimes they don't,it's as simple as that. you don't need to turn it into a slagging match.personaly i wanted to see a season 2 but it got canceled before that happened and a remake might be able to tell us what happens after the finale of the origonal series

Sounds like you're thinking of doing Pilot's origins. There have been a lot of fan fics soley devoted to that topic, so be careful... fans might start accusing you of ripping them off or get mad if you didn't do it exactly like they wanted.
It will be a reboot completely. But still containing the same characters, just under different circumstances. From what I understand, it will explore the awesome cliffhanger ending of Season one, but again, different.

@dreamlandnightmare To be fair, that's not necessarily the case. I can certainly speak for Transformers and GI Joe that while, sure, the movie offerings may suck somewhat, many of the later TV series have been brilliant.
I'd be chuffed if they actually went ahead with this. The CGI bits from this show that were featured in the old Siggraph animation festivals sparked an interest in computers and robots that is strong with me to this day.
Oh well will all the channels available today Nexflix, Amazon, HBO Max, you would think one of these would pick it up. The effects upgrade would be fantastic. What could be holding it back.

I am very worried for the toy line interation with tv thing may need a whole new kind of tv system i feel that gaming is the future of this with a show surrounding it its alread a watch and play...... so console, leaderboards, network play? ? ? This could kill in the box office if its an interactive experience give everyone a plastic blaster that has one life and hand out a prize to the high score like a role in the next episode realy i jope you guys dobt over look that feature that stood out from othere shows in a way i cannnot ignore i have dreamed and druwled over this idea....with shows like dora or blues clues tgat were audiences participating drivin but they are not interactive at all they just give illusions of interaction but with gaming consoles you can breath love into a show that interacting with choice and reactions become a aumented reality

i was growing up in Russia in the 90's, they used to air an odd episode of Captain Power on Russian tv and every time i saw it (and for some bizarre reason it was always the same episode) it blew me away. it was a massive disappointment to later find out they only did one series that kinda ended on a cliffhanger. really hope the sequel lives up to the original, good luck guys, really looking forwards to the new series!
I think they've said this will be a reboot. So, in essence, a reimagining of Captain Power and his team, as well as the biodread world with a modern take (CGI, effects, etc.). Personally, for me, this is the best option they could take. While people say 'leave the classics alone', I'm a firm believer that the timeline of the original should not be shelved because it has so much potential. And they're remaking it! :D I am so hyped I can't put it into words!
This would be the best thing to happen to TV in a long time, but only if they can put in on a good network. One that isn't going to slash the budget or fire the key creative personnel because if there is one thing that current TV networks love to do, it's gut good, well-received shows after only one season. I'd hate for that to happen to Captain Power.

No. A remake would result in my childhood getting raped, and that would be bad. I hate CGI with a passion, no matter that the original series was one of the first examples of CGI visual effects. CGI has no soul, and models are superior, and nobody can appreciate good things but me. I want this project to die. Not watching it and letting others enjoy it is unacceptable, because it would mean that people with different ideas than mine get to have fun, and I cannot allow that. Also, gameplay.
They should make a video game out of the reboot! I loved the TV series as a kid, but don't forget they also had toys and VHS "game" movies where we could use our vehicule lightguns and shoot the flashing hotspot areas in the movies (and even TV shows) for points.

It is awesome , this show brought sci fi to kids , me at the time got so exited even when reruns were shown I had to watch it later , so ahead of its time... cant wait to watch the new version...POWER ON!!!!!
This is VERY exciting. Having Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens as writers would have been my first choice as well. There is every indication that if this wonderful plan comes to fruition, it really is in good hands.
I loved this as a five year old in the 80's. I had the figures and that ships.I'm excited this is getting a reboot and my sons will be able to enjoy it. The first film I saw in theaters was "Masters of the Universe", so it's fitting that Goddard and crew are making old memories new.
Yeah... check the upload date. The remake never happened. It's the Captain Power speedrun, from unmeasured excitement to "what might've been" in one month.
