"Looks like you ran away again...." I'm surprised that no one is talking about this woman's messed up marriage. I mean, even in the "Honeymoon" stage of their relationship, the "love" and relationship has already lost its charm. They barely know each other and got married waaaay too quickly. He had no clue about her hobbies, (running) and got insecure with her independence and basically said she should just stay home then... Really?! And the part about, "No matter what stupid things we say or do to each other...." Bro! That's the kind of thing abusive partners say in toxic/controlling relationships. I don't blame her for not wanting to go with him on the trip. Plus his financial dependence on his parents! I think that the concept of this short film is good, but their whole relationship dynamics is just so unhealthy. ☹
Aside the fact she is too calm for someone in that situation, the transition from when she knocked him out to the final scene is kinda lacking. He would've been extremely mad and want to revenge with atleast a hot slap but he only frowned and he even helped her play back her husband's voice message.

The captors performance was very good, sufficient subtlety and interesting backstory that makes me want to see more from him and more of who he is....however the girl taken captive was sadly the opposite in parts and in other parts, like the comment below said, was way too calm when she realised she wasn't alone in the house. Not a bad film all in all, I like the fact that shes not made out to be good and he's not made out to be a complete monster either. one other criticism was the back and forth dialogue between the two really slowed the pacing and made it visually stale after a while, maybe would of worked in a feature film but not here, needed reducing, plus to me it doesn't feel like dialogue between a captor and captive, more like a captor who is with a psychologist, they are unearthing values, questioning morals and motivations. Her lines and performance does not reflect that of someone in danger trying to get out.Despite that I do realise she is a cunning character who has a way with words, just thinking out loud.
Yes but theres a BIG difference between an actor playing a calm person and an actor portraying a sense of calmness with subtleties and nuances of fear bubbling beneath the surface....it's more believable and adds tension and investment in the protagonist. I never suggested she should scream.
he is going to report to her husband everything she said ...in fact he might have had his own phone open all time...so the plot of having his wife pour herself out under dangerous situation really worked to solidify their marriage ...the extra cost he said was to mislead the other poker players of the real target....the problem is that the dialogue may got her thinking ....so in the end plot may backfired and she may go away....thief played his role beautifully like a good poker player that he actually is
Any short film should be 20 + Mins not 4-5 or less than 10-12 Mins..u cant even put together a descent story line in under 12-15 mins...only kills...so good for u for the length of this s.film..Subbed and liked mate...
